NBL25 Round 4 Preview & Betting Tips
Melbourne United vs Adelaide 36ers
Sunday 4:30pm AEDT, John Cain Arena
Melbourne United enjoyed a bright start to the season with three wins from their first four games, but dished up easily their worst performance last start against the Snakes who defeated them by 13 points in Melbourne.
United looked fatigued in their recent loss and fair enough too considering they’ve had the busiest schedule to begin the season, with double-game weeks in Rounds 2 & 3. However, they’ve now had a full weeks’ rest to prepare for Sunday’s game, so there will be no excuses this time around.
Meanwhile, the Adelaide 36ers enter this game as arguably the form team of the competition. They began their campaign with a pair of losses but have since won three on the trot. Their most recent win was an emphatic 10-point victory against the Kings at home on Friday night, meaning this will be their second game in less than 3 full days.
DJ Vasiljevic has made a fantastic start to NBL25 and is currently the league’s leading scorer. Montrezl Harrell has also been a monster on both ends and was highly influential with 18 points and 14 boards against the Kings. Isaac Humphries has also found his form after a very quiet start to the season.
In lineup news, United are set to have their full roster available for Sunday, while the 36ers will be without Jarrell Martin once again. The good news is Martin could return to the court as early as next week. It’s also expected that the 36ers will retain Harrell for the remainder of the season.
Game Prediction: Both of United’s losses so far this season have come at the backend of a double-game week, and that’s been a common theme across the league. Players are still getting their legs under them early in the season and it’ll be interesting to see how playing their second game in three days affects the 36ers here.
Regardless, I’m expecting a big response from United. Their best is still very, very good and they’ll be looking to bounce back after a horror showing against the Snakes. With extra rest and home court advantage on their side, I like them to close out Round 4 with a big win.
