Caulfield Heath Racing Tips: Wednesday April 16th 2025

April 15th 2025, 1:01pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Caulfield Racing Tips

Caulfield Heath hosts midweek racing in Melbourne on Wednesday with a handy eight race program on offer. The weather is Dry and the track will remain Good with the first race starting at 1pm (AEST). We have been getting a few winners and double the amount of placings. so we’re going to play the Each-Way game here at Caulfield Heath. My three best bets of the day are below!

Dabble

Caulfield Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 16th 2025

Race 3: Sportsbet Get On Extra Plate - 2:10pm (AEST)

(12) Terilee is having her first start for the Mick Kent stable and the appointment of Craig Williams on top for her first start suggests to me she has some ability. Of course, there is some unknown about how she will go but at each-way odds, it's worth a play early in the day. She has had 4 trials in readiness for this and barrier 2 is a good get on debut.

(5) I Am Titan is a first starter from the leading Maher stable and the team has also put an in-form jockey on in Mark Zahra. He too is each-way odds and suggests value.

(8) Whately has had 2 unplaced city runs and is odds on for this race which I think is too short. The odds suggest that he is going well at home though. Has been gelded but both runs on Good tracks were out of the money.

(12) Terilee Each-Way

$6.50/$1.90 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap - 3:10pm (AEST)

(8) Clean Reef is 1 from 1 on Dry tracks and she has a first and a third to her name from when first up. Dan Stackhouse was on her before she went for a spell and she got the money when leading all of the way at short odds. Stacky stays on here and I think he will try and lead on her again and try to control the tempo.

(1) Kyle has won over 400k in prizemoney so is no slouch and can place in this. The Dry track is they key and his confidence might be up now after winning at Sale last week.

(5) Close To Midnight was beaten a nose at Pakenham last start and staying at 1000m seems logical. The only issue is that he hasn’t won on the Dry in 5 attempts.

(8) Clean Reef Each-Way

$4.10/$1.60 (1U/2U)

Race 7: Thoroughbred Club Of Australia Handicap - 4:30pm (AEST)

(5) Steel Move didn't have much luck on debut when 3rd at Pakenham but backed that placing up with a win at the same track when coming from midfield. Jye McNeil stays on and the Blue Point gelding remains at the 1200m looks ideal. Barrier 6 looks ideal and I can see him sitting in around 6th on the outside before he runs on again. This would be a similar position to last time when he saluted. Up 1.5kg in weight so we will go Each-Way.

(4) Gringzinger Moon will go forward and try to control the speed but he does seem to run better on Soft tracks. Lachlan King has a good association with the horse and the horse who has won three in a row now is one of the fittest horses in the race.

(9) The Dabble Effect is first up and has raced well first up previously. From barrier 4 he will settle around 3rd or 4th in the run and will look a chance at the 300m.

(5) Steel Move Each-Way

$5.50/$1.80 (1U/2U)
