UFC fan favourite and the organisations all-time leader in knockouts Derrick Lewis looks to bounce back into the win column when he meets rising contender Sergey Spivak in this weekend’s main event. In the co-main knockout or bust fighter Ion Cutelaba faces off against Kennedy Nzechukwu and unbeaten Waldo Cortes-Acosta fights for the second time in three weeks against Chase Sherman. We take a look at my three best bets on this weekend’s card below.
UFC Fight Night Preview & Betting Tips
Derrick Lewis vs. Sergey Spivak
Derrick Lewis is a fan favourite who finds himself 1-3 in his last four and sits as the gatekeeper of the division. While it is safe to say that he is not as durable as he once was ‘The Black Beast’ still packs a hell of a punch and finds a favourable match up here against the lumbering Sergey Spivak. While Spivak is 6-3 in the Octagon the calibre of fighters has not been high so far asides from Tom Aspinall, who he lost to.
Many will point to Spivak’s wrestling as his path to victory but it isn’t a high level enough to neutralise Lewis and considering he was knocked out by strikers Tom Aspinall and Walt Harris he is there to put away. In fights where Lewis doesn’t have to be overly concerned on the feet, I am always going to back him in and I will again by knockout at great odds.

Vince Morales vs. Miles Johns
While I like Vince Morales as a fighter, he is perfectly suited to his opponent Miles Johns’ fighting style. Morales’ boxing-heavy approach gives Johns plenty of opportunity to close the distance and implement his strong wrestling. While he does step in on two weeks’ notice cardio has never been an issue and I expect him to grind out Morales in a one-sided decision victory.

Fernie Garcia vs. Brady Hiestand
Brady Hiestand lost in his Octagon debut by split decision to Ricky Turcois, where his cardio ultimately failed him. What he is though is a quality takedown artist who should be way too good for Fernie Garcia who outside of a big knockout, won’t have the wrestling to keep his opponent off him. While Garcia may have the striking advantage, I doubt he will have any answers for the wrestling of Hiestand.
