Match Preview
The Titans were slow to start against the Bulldogs last week, conceding 4 tries inside 20 minutes. It was an issue with plagued them last season and while they were to mount a fightback, it was a matter of too much to do as they chased points. They were like their opponents statistically but failed to capitalise by scoring points. The glaring difference though was their lack of metres made when returning kicks; they also allowed too many and must be better in this area when finishing sets.
The Knights had no such issues in their 26-12 victory over the Dolphins at home. Starting strongly with 3 tries inside 20 minutes, they held a 20-6 lead into the break. Even with a lesser share of possession (48%), they took their chances with 8 line breaks. Their defence was strong too; despite missing 38 tackles, they allowed just 2 line breaks. They are certainly a ‘momentum team’ and rely on this heavily in matches.
The confidence in this game is low. On one hand, you have a Titans team which played well in parts last week and is full of talent; you can see the ideas and structure of Hasler beginning to bring about change in this team. The Knights have performed well to start the season with 2 victories, but they have had their moments; better sides may well have made them pay for their mistakes. The Titans are not in that category to invest on them with confidence and to the eye, the Knights are deserving of favouritism.
Still, the fact remains that both sides lack consistency. Therefore, the suggested bet is going to be to invest on the points total; their average margin over the past 5 games is 57.2 points, with the lowest total being 50 points. Both sides had high totals last week and will want to attain dominance in a similar manner.

Leg 1: Jojo Fifita to score – he is a man in form and has speed to burn. Most importantly, he knows how to finish a sweeping backline movement when it matters most.
Leg 2: Best to score – He powered his way to the line in the opening two weeks of the competition and will again be hard to stop. The Titans looked fragile defending in this area last week and the Knights will be out to expose that here.
SGM Odds: $4.20 at BoomBet
