Seymour Racing Club gets a rare chance to host midweek racing on Wednesday with eight races on the program. The track will be Good and the first race starts at 1:20pm (AEDT), with a 1600m maiden race to get proceedings underway on a day where half of the races are young maidens. Brendan Bunworth brings you his three best bets + Quaddie selections for the day below!

Seymour Racing Tips: Wednesday, February 12th 2025
Race 2: MM Tasmanian Yearling Sale 2025 Maiden Plate - 1:55pm (AEDT)
(11) Lady Potato Head was plain last start when 7th at Pakenham but she was first up. She will be fitter after that run which was 20 days ago and I think the rise to 1400m suits. She has had three runs over this distance and has placed on all occasions. This race is no harder and she raced well when second up last prep (3rd).
(10) Krystal Kosmos is a first starter from the Richard Cully yard and Jarrod Fry takes the ride. She has had four recent jumpouts so she should be fit enough.
(14) Hubristic has drawn poorly in 12 but will likely go back anyway like she did at Mornington (4th). Stackhouse stays on but he has drawn poorly in both career runs and the $2.20 look a bit short.
(11) Lady Potato Head
$2.90 (1 Unit)
Race 4: Tallarook Sheds Maiden Plate - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(8) Transactions has had three unplaced runs in his career but he is first up here for the Freedman team and I reckon he would have matured and trained on over the last three months. He started favourite in all career runs and is likely to again which suggests to me that he is talented. At even money I think he is worth another crack again at maiden level. Blake Shinn is on and I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts shorter than $1.90.
(6) La Meeting was 2nd at this track on January 16 albeit 4L. She went forward on that occasion and will likely have to again from barrier 10.
(7) Nebuchadnezzar has placed 3 times on Good tracks and is the main danger after going down by a head at Moe last start. Before that run he was 2nd when hot fav at Werribee. One of the fittest.
(8) Transactions
$1.90 (4 Units)
Race 6: Tahblik Wines Handicap - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(3) Kyle was just fair when 6th at The Valley last time but I think he deserves one more go after he raced well at Sha-tin last prep. He won a jumpout at Cranbourne on December 30 and this race is probably his easiest. Shinn is on and Kyle’s best runs have been on Dry tracks. Enver Jusufovic trains and he has had a good 12 months.
(4) Golden Warrior hasn’t won in a long time and is first up. Will likely go back from barrier 9 but will be running on.
(1) Arizona Activist is very fit now and a Good track is an advantage. Michael Dee knows him well and has won on top previously and an each-way bet is best or a Place bet at the current quote of $1.85 looks okay.
