Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 27th 2024

Race 3: Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap - 3:40pm (AEDT)

(3) Rock The Bar led all of the way at Pakenham last start and looked comfortable in doing so. He gets another Dry track here and from barrier 4 he should be able to settle in the top two again. On debut he settled midfield before winning so even if he doesn’t lead it not the be all and end all. Shinn hops off but Rock The Bar gains the services of another leading jockey in Melham.

(2) Prince Prawn goes up 2.5kg in weight but should get a good run from barrier 2. He has won two in a row after settling just behind the leaders and he should get the same run again here.

(1) Gallant Prince gains 2.kg in weight and is going for three in a row second up. He had a wide barrier last time (11) and gets a better one here in 5. His two dangers also settle on speed so the tactics in the first 200m of the race will be important.

(3) Rock The Bar

$3.50 (2 Units)

Race 7: The Importer Handicap - 6pm (AEDT)

(13) Mansiere had no luck last start at Flemington in what was a much harder race than this. He drops a kilo in weight and that will assist as this horse is a run on type. He settled near last before making up late ground over the 1200m last time and he should be even stronger again over the same distance. On February 18 he ran very well when 2nd only beaten half a length and he had to carry a big weight of 59kg that day too.

(4) Thaler has had a freshen up since winning at The Valley and Williams hops on top for the ride. Before that win his form on the Dry was only fair so punters may still be wary of another Dry track here.

(9) Pantelone has drawn well in 2 after he was a beaten favourite at Hillside last start. He likes Dry tracks and the 1200m is his favourite. He has placed both times for Zahra and he does look ready to strike again.

(13) Masiere

$4 (1 Unit)

Race 8: Sportsbet Bet With Mates Handicap - 6:30pm (AEDT)

(10) Divus Romulus smashed them last start at Pakenham when favourite and will attract a lot of support again here. Allen is staying on top and from barrier 3 he will likely settle midfield again in the run before looking for the opening gaps at the 400m. He has been lightly raced of late but three weeks on from his easy win, he could be even better this time. He is very consistent and has never missed a top 3 finish on the Dry.

(12) Aussie Nation was honest enough to the line last start at Hillside and his only win came on the Dry surface, He has drawn wide though (12) so it may be tough to win.

(8) So Sleek settled 3rd and stayed there last start and from barrier 1 he will likely settle in the same position in this race. He is fit but he may be better on wet tracks.

(10) Divus Romulus

$3 (2 Units)
