Golden Slipper Day is upon us! This will be one ripper of an edition too with the two undefeated goliaths at the top of the betting in Storm Boy and Switzerland going head-to-head. Multiple Group 1’s earlier in the day also add enormous interest.

Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday March 23rd 2024
Race 6: Group 1 Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas - 2000m (15:15 AEDT)
(3) Cafe Millenium is the horse I’m backing to outrun his price in this race. He was good from the back of the field in the Randwick Guineas so stepping up to 2000m looks as though it’ll suit him. It’s not the toughest field for a Guineas and the favourites don’t look bulletproof.
(4) Tom Kitten exploded last time he hit 2000m in the Spring Champion last prep. If he reproduces a figure like that he’s just about unbeatable.
(7) Immediacy is the newcomer to this level. He’s undefeated so far and blitzed a Group 2 field last start in Melbourne. Can he handle Group 1 racing?
(3) Cafe Millenium E/W
$19/$3.80 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Group 1 The Agency George Ryder Stakes - 1500m (15:55 AEDT)
(18) Encap is the clear choice for mine. Think About It is drawn too wide, Veight isn’t convincing over further than 1200m and Militarize could end up in a tricky spot. Encap should jump well from 2 and land close. Won’t do much work in the run and will be looking for gaps. Should’ve gapped Celestial Legend and Militarize last start but was unlucky.
(15) Lady Laguna isn’t proven over 1500m yet but has done everything asked of her this prep so far. Capped it off winning her first G1 last start. Can go on with it.
(1) Think About It goes in the minors as he’s by far and away the standout horse in the field on raw ability. Class can take him a long way but can it take him 1500m from barrier 17?
(18) Encap E/W
$9.50/$3.20 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Group 1 Tab Golden Slipper - 1200m (16:40 AEDT)
(1) Storm Boy just continues to impress. No 2yo has been able to come close to him in 4 starts and he’s drawn perfectly again to continue that streak. The experience of Ryan Moore with the Waterhouse 2yo quality is hard to look past.
(7) Switzerland is the field’s best chance at toppling this dominant favourite. I firmly expect to see these 2 horses pair off and battle it out in the straight.
(15) Manaal is a filly i have some time for. She’s down the page in the market but you have to throw at least one roughie in there somewhere for a race like this don’t you?
(1) Storm Boy
$2.45 (2 Units)
