Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Saturday, March 22nd 2025
Race 1: Midway BM72 – 1500m – 12:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Promitto $11/$3.40: 5YO who has been racing well of late, but has a high rating here. Gets in okay with a 3kg claim, so best is good enough and worth thought at the price.
(4) Rush Attack $5.00/$2.00: 4YO Gelding who has a pretty tidy record and hasn’t missed the exacta in his last five outings. Gets in well with Anna Roper claiming 3kg. Wide draw, but must be considered.
(11) Highborn Harry $35/$8.00: Roughie of the field who could sneak a place. Mixes form, but when he is on he goes well. Probably needs a few runs first, but has trialled. Blow out hope.
TIP: NO BET
Race 2: Bisley Workwear Epona Stakes - 1900m - 1:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Hinged $5.00: 6YO Mare who is a classy type, but has been awfully hard to catch. Should have finished closer last start. J mac for Waller is a dangerous combo, but probably need to see a slightly bigger price before I buy in. Top weight. Hope.
(2) Positivity $21/$5.00: 4YO Mare who comes up from Victoria and did enough last start when she came from a long way back. She has had well spaced runs and looks a nice roughie in the race.
(5) Sounds Of Heaven $5.50: 5YO Mare who gets a much easier affair here, but was good late amongst Group 1 company. Looks ready for this trip third up and the market is behind her. Main danger.
TIP: NO BET
Race 3: Asahi Super Dry N E Manion Cup - 2400m – 1:40pm (AEDT)
(1) Athabascan $6.50/$2.10: 6YO Stayer who hasn’t been all that far away in both returning runs. Rises to 2400m and is proven twice over this trip and once at the track. Draws well and will be around the mark.
(6) Alalcance $3.20: 5YO Mare coming of a terrific win over 2000m when she was well backed. Fitter again second up and is yet to miss the exacta from 4 attempts over 2400m. She is the one to beat. Draws well and Tim Clark stays on top.
(11) Birdman $3.90: 4YO Who has returned nicely and gets in lightly for this. Draws a sticky gate, so will likely get back in the run. Hard fit third up and must be considered.
(6) Alalcance
$3.20 (2 Units)
Race 4: Hyland Race Colours Darby Munro Stakes - 1200m – 2:15pm (AEDT)
(3) Autumn Glow $1.90: Undefeated filly who is resuming and looks awfully hard to beat. She was terrific in her debut season winning comfortably in all three runs. Highly rated and has had three trials leading in. Low draw and J-Mac to steer. The one to beat.
(6) Ikasara $10/$2.50: Resuming 3YO Colt who has trialled sensationally leading in. Best form is at this track and with Tim CLARK into the saddle id expect them to be rolling forward and may take catching.
(15) Gangsta Granny $13/$3.00: 3YO Filly who has won her last three and is chasing her fourth win and will be hoping to remain undefeated this prep. This is tougher again, but gets in light and draws well. $17 into $13 early. Value
(3) Autumn Glow
$1.90 (4 Units)
Race 5: Ranvet Stakes - 2000m – 2:50pm (AEDT)
(3) Lindermann $9.50/$2.90: 5YO Gelding who started favourite last start and had every chance, but failed to fire. Prior to that only finished half a length behind VIA SISTINA. Hard fit fourth up and loves this track/trip. Value.
(5) Golden Path $41.00/$11.00: 5YO Gelding who hasn’t been the worst in his two return runs. Proven third up and looks suited out to this trip. Well over the odds and could blow this out.
(6) Via Sistina $1.40: The market suggests this mare will be very hard to beat. She was terrific over the mile last start when she squeezed through and kicked clear. She boasts a tidy record over 2000m with 7 wins and 4 seconds from 12 attempts. $1.40 too short for me, but she will be hard to beat.
TIP: NO BET
Race 6: Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas - 2000m – 3:25pm (AEDT)
(1) Broadsiding $2.00: 3YO Colt who has returned with a win over 1400m and then finished second behind LINE BAKER most recently over 1600m. Had a nice run, but just couldn’t reel the winner in. He has a good record over this track and his sole run over this trip was in the 2024 Cox Plate and finished third behind Prognosis and Via Sistina. Yet to win third up and probably prefers a little more give in the deck, but will be around the mark. Rates well.
(3) Swiftfalcon $5.00: 3YO Gelding who has been running on superbly in both runs this prep. Has given his opponents a head start on both occasions, but has hit the line strongly to finish second and third behind Broadsiding. The rise in trip to 2000m now looks ideal and gets a handy draw. Peaking third up and ready to win and turn the tables.
(4) Checkmate $17/$3.40: The kiwi who crosses the Tasman for his debut run here. Has some handy form coming with him and will be hitting the line. Blow out hope.
(3) Swiftfalcon
$5.00 (1 Unit)
Race 7: The Agency George Ryder Stakes - 1500m – 4:00pm (AEDT)
(2) Tom Kitten $6.50/$2.10: 4YO Gelding who comes into this off a terrific All Star Mile victory beating some quality opponents. Fitter again and will be worth thought off that run.
(10) Fangirl $3.00: 6YO Mare who has returned as good as ever with a nice first up win before she was beaten by stablemate Via Sistina. Goes well third up and rates well for this. J-Mac for Waller. Watch for her late.
(11) Stefi Magnetica $10/$2.60: 4YO Mare who can be forgiven when she got caught 3 wide no cover first up. She will be improving sharply here and gets a nice draw. Has terrific form lines and J-Collett jumps into the saddle for the first time which boosts confidence. Over the odds.
(11) Stefi Magnetica E/W
$10/$2.60 (1U/2U)
Race 8: Tab Golden Slipper - 1200m – 4:35pm (AEDT)
(1) Rivellino $11/$3.40: 2YO Colt who continues to win and wins well. The stable have been bullish and he has delivered. Draws a nice gate and gets Hugh Bowman into the saddle who comes over from Hong Kong. No reason why he cant win again. Draws well and is a top hope.
(8) Wodeton $5.50: 2YO Colt who has been the favourite in the early markets for sometime, but may have lost some followers after last start. Looks a leading hope and punters are seeing a much better price now. Won’t be far away.
(13) Tempted $5.00: The 2025 Golden Slipper favourite who won the Riesling well over this trip last start. J-Mac jumps off though being the only concern. Consider.
(1) Rivellino E/W
$11/$3.40 (1 Unit)
Race 9: Kia Ora Galaxy - 1100m – 5:15pm (AEDT)
(3) I Am Me $13/$3.50: 6YO Mare who looks ready to win third up and boasts a terrific record over 1100m. Draws the pole and Nash Rawiller steers. Looks over the odds.
(6) Growing Empire $8.50/$2.60: 3YO Colt who improved last start down the straight at Flemington. Best form comes over this trip and when third up. Gets a boost with J-Mac jumping in and will have plenty of supporters. Each way.
(13) Private Harry $3.30: Unbeaten 3YO Colt who has continued to rise to the occasion and win well. Has trialled twice since his Magic Millions win and they have both been good. This is the next test and if he wins this he may well and truly live up to the trainers’ expectations of going unbeaten.
Also Backing: (6) Growing Empire E/W – $8.50/$2.60 (1 Unit)
(13) Private Harry
$3.30 (2.5 Units)
Race 10: Tab Birthday Card Stakes - 1200m – 5:55pm (AEDT)
(5) Shezanalister $7.50/$2.20: 5YO Mare who was terrific first and second up before having cardiac arrhythmia most recently. She was well in the market for that third up run too, so expecting her to bounce back now. Value
(7) Outback Miss $2.70: The favourite who has been plonked from the opening price of $4.60 into $2.70. First up and second up runs were easy watches. Found one better last start. Looking to get back to the winners stall. Goes well.
(12) Drifitng $23/$5.00: 3YO Filly who we tipped last start and has failed to fire. Looks as though she hasn’t returned at all. Her previous form was good enough and if she can bring that here she is every chance. Light weight and draws well. Smokey.
