Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, February 18th 2023
Race 1
(2) Super Extreme blitzed a field in this grade last time and made it look easy through the line. No reason he can’t reproduce that performance and win just as easily again at a similar price.
(6) Sizzle Minizzle is the roughest pick that can be entertained in the race. 2 country wins have been emphatic and deserves a crack in the city. Drawn well and should end up in one of the better positions in running.
(14) Indicative has similar ability to Sizzle Minizzle on races they’ve contested together. Indicative has early speed and can settle near the lead which might go a long way towards winning or running well here.
(2) Super Extreme Each-Way
$5.30/$2.30 (1 Unit)
Race 4
(3) King’s Gambit is drawn well here and can regain respect by going one better here than last time at rock bottom odds of $1.20. Sets up to get run of the race and would need a lot to go wrong not to be right in the finish.
(8) Platinum Jubilee returns to Sydney after running 2nd in the magic millions 2yo classic. Has ability but is yet to put it all together. Maybe this time?
(2) Cylinder rounds out the top 3 here drawing gate 1 for Brenton Avdulla after winning a lead up trial and running 2ndin a listed race down south. Threat.
(3) King’s Gambit Win
$2.50 (2 Units)
Race 6
(3) Expat can win this race. The wide barrier has not been factored into Mariamia’s price at all. She’s the best in the race after winning the Expressway last time beating Golden Mile but she could get it very tough out wide if she’s not able to cross and find a spot early here. Expat will lead so the wide draw is irrelevant and there’s no pace in this race. If he’s firing fresh like he usually does he’ll prove hard to catch (3 from 3 t/d).
(2) Mariamia is the unofficial top selection for the race but is simply too short to back with the wide draw against her. Beating Golden Mile in the Expressway last time cannot be underplayed and she’ll be right in this race for sure.
(7) Katalin wasn’t able to extend fully in her trial but is capable on her day and loves racing fresh. The drier the better for her.
(3) Expat Each-Way
$10/$2.60 (1 Unit)
