Richmond vs Gold Coast

Richmond have had a season from hell but it was somewhat to be expected considering the age profile of their list. They’ve lost a lot of veterans in recent seasons and are now starting to bring through some youth that weren’t able to get the opportunity in recent seasons.
In saying that, it’s been a tough season for fans who have seen their side win just two matches as we approach the final round of the home and away season. Most recently the Tigers were blown off the park by the rampaging Hawks, eventually losing that contest by 62 points (68-131).
The Tigers have made three changes at selection with Liam Baker and Marlion Pickett among the inclusions. Baker is expected to be traded at season’s end, while Pickett has already announced his retirement.
Gold Coast were expected to do great things in their first season under Damien Hardwick but have failed to live up to the hype. Their best finish in their club’s history is 12th which they’ve achieved twice, and a win on Saturday could potentially see them finish in that position again.
The Suns were thoroughly disappointing last weekend against the Demons whom they lost to by 54 points (63-117). It was their second straight loss at People First Stadium after being unbeaten there for the season.
Alex Sexton and Jack Lukosius have been recalled for the Suns last game of the season, while veteran David Swallow and youngster Jed Walter will make way.
Match Prediction: In all honesty, there are far better games to invest your money in this weekend than this clash, as it’s somewhat of a crapshoot. However, with a number of Tigers likely playing their last game for the club this weekend, there is a chance they put in a strong performance. And if you’re desperate to have a flutter on this clash, then I’d be taking the Tigers to cover the spread.
