Randwick Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 11th 2024
Race 3: Star Turn @ Vinery Stud 1150m – 2:35pm (AEST)
(1) Huon $7.00: 6YO Gelding who is resuming and has a terrific first up record with 2 wins and a third from 3 attempts. He has trialled well and is worth thought from a decent alley.
(4) Piercing Arrow $6.00: 4YO who resumes today and is proven first up. Tim Clark has been on for both trials leading into this where he won both. Draws pole and expect him to roll forward and dictate the race. Worth thought at a nice price.
(5) Astapor $3.00: 3YO Colt who sees a much easier affair this time out. Won well three back in open class with top weight up in QLD before only finishing 2L off the winner at listed grade. Excuses last start travelling wide. Happy to have him back in grade and over this trip whilst being rock hard fit and Rawiller jumping into the saddle.

Race 5: Hyland Race Colours BM72 1400m - 3:45pm (AEST)
(1) Ahuriri $15.00/$3.20: Roughie of the field who looks a solid each way chance with 3KG claim engaged. 58kg puts her in this well at the weights against the competitors. Two trials haven’t been all that appealing, but she can give this a shake on her day.
(6) Makena $7.50: J-Mac for Waller who is always a danger. Ran home okay first up and was supported in betting there. Can only expect improvement now second up and is proven over 1400m. Value pick.
(9) Wings Of Desire $2.40: 3YO Filly who is looking to make it 3 from 3 here after winning comfortably at both of her starts. Rises in trip now and in class, but she appears to be quite the talent and is related to the well-known WINX. Happy to be on and so is Tommy BERRY.

Race 6: The Agency Real Estate BM72 1000m – 4:20pm (AEST)
(1) Gitalong $4.20: 4YO Gelding who has been racing respectably and now drops back in grade but will need to lug 62kg. Draws a nice gate and has a terrific record over this trip. Must be respected, but the big weight is the query.
(4) Custo $8.00/$2.45: 5YO who has been racing well this prep with 2 seconds and a win. Meets similar company as last start where he took the rails run and finished second behind ANOTHER COGNAC. Meets him 2kg better at the weights now and is only fitter for the runs. Worth thought again.
(6) Another Cognac $3.80: 5YO gelding who was dominant from the rear to burst past the field down the outside to win by almost 2L when resuming as a gelding. J-Mac remains in the saddle and meets similar opponents. If we see another run like that he’s sure to feature. Main danger.
