Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday September 30th 2023

Race 1: Midway Bm72 Hcp – 1800m (11:55 AEST)

(5) State Of America demolished his rivals in Mdn and C1 company 2 starts ago. He should probably have won last time when 3rd behind the horse he beat by 2.6L the start prior and held up in the run. Should win.

(5) Philipsburg can win here under Blake Shinn. He’s a much better price compared to Loving Cilla who comes out of the same race where she was double the price and is now shorter after having performed just as well.

(7) Celestial Fury is an interesting runner and ultra-consistent. He’s well drawn with Tommy Berry in the saddle so isn’t without a chance.

Race 2: Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes – 1000m (12:30 AEST)

(5) Invincible Madison is the most expensive horse in this race by some margin. The $1.2 million filly trialled impressively bolting away from her rivals late in her trial after checking off heels.

(6) Lady Of Camelot also blitzed her rivals in the lead up trial for her debut and she ran fast time too. Looks the likely leader and hard to catch.

(7) Lady Tassort has a beautiful action. She’s a big-striding filly that should be able to settle on speed and give this a shake.

Race 3: Arrowfield Breeders' Plate – 1000m (13:05 AEST)

(12) Straight Charge won his trial in seriously fast time under vigorous riding from Regan Bayliss. He was almost a full second faster than any other trial on the day and will prove extremely hard to beat if he produces a similar performance at the races.

(8) Highness trialled very casually in good time winning with ease. He looks a nice type of horse but gets ear muffs on pre-race which may indicate he has tendencies to get warm or above himself which would be a negative.

(1) Bodyguard can’t be left out given his whopping $1.6 million price tag. He’s drawn wide and got nosed out in the finish by Espionage but can bounce back on race day with some improvement.

(12) Straight Charge - E/W

$6.60/$2.20 (1 Unit)

Race 4: Bm88 Hcp – 1600m (13:40 AEST)

(13) Altivo is going to be very hard to beat here. Unlucky last start with nowhere to go in the straight. He’s drawn wide but won’t have any bad luck out there and can settle in the 3-wide running line. Needs to step up to win but looks highly capable of doing so.

(8) Unspoken is the obvious danger. Gate 1 will do him a world of good and he was tough beating Gracilistyla last time.

(5) Stroke Of Luck returns after finishing 3rd in a Qld Derby to end last preparation. He’s won over as short as 1300m and will be ready to go here over the mile under Tommy Berry. Keep a close eye.

(13) Altivo - Win

$3.60 (2 Units)

Race 5: Listed Dulcify Stakes – 1600m (14:15 AEST)

(3) Tannhauser will go well here. He shot up the rail in the Ming Dynasty and closed strongly through the line almost passing Encap after the post when clear. James Mcdonald must’ve seen that because he’s aboard this time from gate 3. Great e/w chance.

(1) Tom Kitten is the measuring stick given he was wide in that same race and closed for 3rd strongly. He won well prior and is drawn better here to deserves to be in the market (maybe too short though).

(6) Pushy blitzed his rivals in a small field at Newcastle last start. This is a whole different kettle of fish for this bloke but nothing indicates he won’t be able to improve into this grade and give this race a shake.

Race 6: Group 1 Flight Stakes – 1600m (14:50 AEST)

(1) Tiz Invincible is becoming impossible to tip or bet against now. Kimochi showed promising signs of being able to turn the tables having been unlucky on multiple occasions but she had every possible chance to win last time and still lost to the seemingly better horse.

(2) Kimochi is still the filly I favour in this crop of 3yo’s and the moment she indicates she’s improving I’ll be the first to jump aboard but there’s no way you can back her over the favourite here after being beaten fair and square for the 2nd consecutive time.

(3) Tropical Squall lead last time and can do the same here. She’ll give a good sight in front and will profit off any leader bias on the day.

Race 7: Group 2 Premiere Stakes – 1200m (15:25 AEST)

(2) Think About It should be winning here. It’s hard to see him running poorly from gate 2 with Lost and Running inside him to set the pace. Form and lead up trials immaculate.

(4) Remarque is a huge price after winning 1st up and running well 2nd up behind Private Eye in the shorts. Change of silks here and can be right in the finish of this race.

(9) Bella Nipotina is probably the big gun in the market who is most likely to roll this favourite. She was 3rdbehind Remarque 1st up and has had time off to prepare for this 2nd up run.

(2) Think About It - Win

$2.35 (3 Units)

Race 8: Group 1 Epsom Hcp – 1600m (16:05 AEST)

(8) Hope In Your Heart is the best in this race. She’s an absolute superstar in the making and was unlucky not to win or finish closer 1st up in the Tramway. 54kg here from gate 10 will suit her as she should be able to stay off the fence and in clear running down the straight.

(17) Rediener is the sneaky runner here in gate 2 with only 50kg to carry. If he gets the breaks in the straight off the rail he’s going to let down with a finish that could see him win this race.

(3) The Inevitable closed impressively on Golden Mile in the Theo Marks last start. He was 3rd last prep in the All-Star Mile behind Mr Brightside and Cascadian and has a superb overall record. He is an 8yo and just about has top weight to carry but he’s an obvious threat.

(8) Hope In Your Heart - E/W

$8.60/$3.30 (1 Unit)

Race 9: Group 1 The Metropolitan Hcp – 2400m (16:45 AEST)

(14) Just Fine gets a positive weight swing against Benaud and Major Beel after blitzing them in the Kingston Town Stakes. He’s drawn gate 2, will lead and will win.

(12) Benaud comes out of the same race which looks the right form. He’s drawn well and carries a light weight so can fight out the finish.

(4) Major Beel has a bit more weight to carry but is 1 from 1 at the t/d. Should run well.

(14) Just Fine - Win

$1.85 (2 Units)

Race 10: Bm94 Hcp – 1200m (17:25 AEST)

(4) Rubamos returns off a nice trial, has won 2 races fresh and is drawn well in gate 2 to get every possible chance. Big price and worth a bet.

(8) Kibou is hard to beat here but is short and did get all favours 1st up when leading on a day where leading was heavily favourable. Expect him to go well again but too short for mine.

(18) Airman has to go in the numbers after 3rd to Red Card and Smashing Eagle which I’m still convinced is solid form. Problem here is the horse is drawn wide yet again so may be storming home when it’s all over.
