Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, October 19th 2024
Race 1: The Star St Leger Stakes 2600m – 12:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Military Mission $11.00/$2.80: Fourth up today and had zero luck last time out. Expect improvement and he will be in this for a long time.
(2) Alegron $3.80: The favourite for race 1 and gets a much easier affair than usual. Top pick.
(6) Etna Rosso $5.00: Ran on nicely last start and has tallied up two wins this prep. Looks suited over 2600m now and can play a role.
TIP: NO BET
Race 2: Big Dance Wild Card 1600m– 1:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Berkshire Shadow $7.50/$2.40: 6YO who has had minimal luck, but gets in well today with a 3kg claim. Draws a sticky gate, but with some luck he should be going close here.
(2) Chorlton lane $4.60: 5YO who showed plenty of talent early on, but has failed to fire recently. Rises top the mile now, so prefer to watch again. Best is good enough.
(3) Ducasse $4.60: 4th up today and finally draws a gate. Zac Llyod to steer. Looks to be the main danger here.
TIP: NO BET
Race 3: Bisley Workwear Reginald Allen Qlty 1400m – 12:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Wings Of Desire $7.50/$2.50: Value pick here who has been terrific on all occasions. Last start was forgivable as conditions weren’t too flash and may have played a part. Forgive.
(2) Dominetta $5.00: Dominant win last start and has since trialled well. Hard fit and can go on with it.
(10) Jellicious $7.00/$2.50: 3YO filly who has been impressive and looks close to breaking maiden. Will have plenty of fans at an each way price.
TIP: NO BET
Race 4: James Squire Angst Stakes 1600m – 2:15pm (AEDT)
(5) Hinged $3.60: 6YO Mare who should be rock hard fit now fourth up and gets back against her own sex. Ran very well two back behind BUCKEROO who has since gone on to win a G1 and narrowly miss in another. Sticky gate, but should be able to cross and will be hard to beat.
(6) Ausbred Flirt $13.00/$3.60: Hard fit who has been hitting the line well. Maps nicely here and will be launching late with some luck.
(11) Mountain Top $41.00/$8.50: This mare has been racing well and deserves a crack here. Draws wide, but continues to improve. Blow out hope.
(5) Hinged
$3.60 (2.5 Units)
Race 5: The Kosciuszko 1200m – 2:50pm (AEDT)
(2) Far Too Easy $6.00/$2.00: Queenslander who boasted some slick times last start over the 1000m sprint. Has trialled the house down since and maps nicely here with a hot tempo we can expect him to be running on.
(3) Front Page $6.50: Resuming 8YO who gets in well and gets J-Mac into the saddle. Boasts a terrific record fresh and over 1200m, but looks as though there will be plenty of other speedsters to compete with out in front. Too short for me.
(5) Boom Torque $8.00/$2.40: 5YO who has been racing well and will be hard fit now 4th up. 5 wins from 6 attempts over 1200m. Nash to steer boosts confidence. Goes well.
(2) Far Too Easy E/W
$6.00/$2.00 (1U/2U)
Race 6: Toyota Forklift Sydney Stakes 1200m – 3:25pm (AEDT)
(1) Overpass $5.00: Resuming 6YO who boasts a handy record over this trip and is an emergency in the Everest, so must be respected if running here. Yet to score from 9 outings at Randwick though.
(2) Think About It $9.00/$2.80: Last year’s Everest winner and was never given a crack when resuming last start. Unsure about tactics there. Fitter now and if he jumps well he is a live hope.
(16) Lady Laguna $17.00/$4.20: She was super last time round and hardly runs a bad race. Pulled up lame when first up, but has been several weeks since that run. Has trialled well and goes very well second up. Maps okay and can play a role at big odds. Roughie chance.
(16) Lady Laguna E/W
$17/$4.20 (0.5U/1U)
Race 7: The Tab Everest – 4:15pm (AEDT)
Race 8: Silver Eagle 1300m – 4:50pm (AEDT)
(1) Veight $6.50/$2.30: 4YO who was flat when returning, but happy to forgive. Draws wide which is a concern, but J-Mac gets into the saddle. Better than the others on paper.
(4) Ostraka $5.50/$2.10: 4YO who has returned in fine order chasing the hattrick now. Draws wide, but must be respected again off the two previous runs with big weights.
(11) Kimochi $5.50: Well weighted 4YO mare who should be firing third up now. Jason Collett has a good record when on top and this looks a winnable race.
(11) Kimochi
$5.50 (1 Unit)
Race 9: King Charles III Stakes 1600m - 5:35pm (AEDT)
(6) Ceoulwulf $8.50/$2.10: Terrific win in the Epsom last start where he swooped late and won easily in the end. He looks to be only improving and must be considered again now. Remains at the mile and Chad stays on. Goes well.
(7) Celestial Legend $13.00/$2.80: 4YO who was terrific last prep, but is yet to show that same turn of foot we saw then this prep. Unbeaten at this track/trip and goes well third up. Improves now and looks a great value chance.
(10) Fangirl $4.00: Very talented 6YO mare who won arrogantly last start. Has trialled since which was just a gallop and looks ready to win again over the mile. Draws well and can hopefully settle a bit closer in transit. Pride of jenni the clear favourite and one to beat, but she draws wide and she may be competing for the lead with Major Beel. (Hopefully softening each other up for Fangirl to swwop.)
(10) Fangirl
$4.00 (1.5 Units)
Race 10: World Pool BM88 - 6:10pm (AEDT)
(3) Ruby Flyer $51.00/$9.50: Well supported early on first up, but drifted late back out to open price. Gets in nicely again with a 3kg claim and is over the odds. Draws well and should be improving second up. If there is any rain about I’ll be having a small play.
(6) Willaidow $4.00:6YO who has been racing well and deserves to be favourite here. J-Mac stays on and should be winning over this trip.
(16) Well Timed $4.60: Very consistent mare who goes well at this track and distance. Nash stays on and will be around the mark again. Tougher.
TIP: NO BET
