Randwick Racing Tips – Saturday, July 8th 2023
Race 2: 3yo Bm72 Hcp – 1400m (11:35 AEST)
(5) West Of Africa was solid last time where he was short for room down the straight and picked up well when clear. He looks likely to be in a similar position here but is now 2nd up and should be hard to beat at what is quite a nice price.
(4) Step Aside comes out of the same race as the favourite here and was just as good to the eye. There shouldn’t be much between them again but this horse is drawn less favourably, as he was last time.
(3) Little Beginnings is not out of this race by any means. He was beaten by a good one last time after working hard around the field and sitting outside the lead the whole way. He’s drawn poorly again but with some cover he can win.
(5) West of Africa - win

Race 5: Bm78 Hcp – 1400m (13:20 AEST)
(3) Resonator takes a 3kg claim and steps up to bm78 grade this time having won his last 2 races. The competition in this race doesn’t look all too threatening for a horse who’s won his last 2 races so we’ll stick with him en route to a hat-trick.
(11) Mirra View may be a sneaky e/w chance here having won 2 starts back. She wasn’t horrible last time but was below her best. Gate 1 and she can bounce back here.
(2) Excelladus ran a close 2nd last time out and can run well again this weekend under Zac Lloyd.
(3) Resonator - win

Race 8: Listed Winter Stakes – 1400m (15:15 AEST)
(17) Barbie’s Fox can do no wrong this prep having performed extremely well in all but one of her 5 races. She’s right down in the weights here under Zac Lloyd and can make a big impression travelling up from Melbourne.
(13) Brookspire typically improves 2nd up and arrives in Sydney following a poor Coughlan Stakes performance last time. Light weight and good draw, go well.
(7) Art Cadeau can never be left out in big races. He knows how to win one and has done it before off the back of very poor form as he’ll have coming into this race.
