Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, January 4th 2024
Race 4: Toyota Forklifts BM88 - 1400m - 2:20pm (AEDT)
(2) Ang Pow $4.60: 6YO Gelding who was back to his best when rising to 1400m, running second behind I’Mintowin in BM94 grade and then winning when back on the dry ground last start. Well rated again now with 2kg claim engaged. Has a nice record and can play another role.
(3) Excelladus $6.00: 6YO who was handy enough to the line over 1200m last start, so probably looks suited out to 1400m now. Fitter again, but yet to win when second up. Small field though and is talented enough.
(6) Accredited $1.60: 5YO gelding who should probably be unbeaten this prep when he had no luck resuming. Second up win was commanding and then showed grit last start holding the challengers off. Rises in trip again now and will once again be the one to beat. Draws well. Top chance.
(2) Ang Pow
$4.60 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Precise Air BM88 - 1200m - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(6) In Flight $4.00: 4YO Mare who hasn’t been beaten by all that much in much tougher grade. She is a very honest type and looks a great bet back in grade here. Only query is 1200m, but a few of her runs she looks as though she’ll relish the extra 100m. Maps well and will be hard fit now. On top.
(7) Disneck $2.70: 4YO Gelding who won nicely two back timing his run perfectly and then when the conditions were harder for him against similar company he sprouted wings and destroyed them by 3L. He looks to be still on the up and must be respected.
(9) Amazing Eagle $3.00: 3YO Colt who looks like hes going to be a nice type and is yet to miss the minors. He has trialled since his narrow defeat on the heavy track and looks a nice chance down in the weights.
(6) In Flight
$4.00 (1 Unit)
Race 9: Inglis Classic Sale 9-11 Feb BM78 - 1100m – 5:35pm (AEDT)
(2) South Of India $8.00/$2.50: 4YO gelding who hasn’t been disgraced in his last two runs against much tougher company. His Last campaign he knocked up four wins in a row including two results in similar grade. He now gets back into a nice winnable race for this fourth up run where he should be rock hard fit. He draws a perfect gate and rates well with Anna ROPER in the saddle claiming 3kg, putting him in with 57kg. He should be pinging and ideally get the lead which can allow him to dictate the race to his liking and we know he will be in this for a long way if that’s the case. There is a little bit of speed on paper, so hoping he doesn’t get taken on. Id like to think the trainers have put him back here to build a little confidence. He deserves a small play at the price. Value
(4) Boston Rocks $4.80: 4YO gelding who was good on return finishing behind Grand Larceny, but had to give 4kg to the winner. He is a nice type and will give punters a run for there money. Fitter again.
(8) Iron Will $15.00/$3.80: Roughie of the race who has had some early support $23 into $15. Rises in class after finishing second over 1000m in BM72 grade, but gets in nicely with a 2kg claim engaged here. Rock hard fit and could be a nice blow out hope.
(2) South Of India E/W
$8.00/$2.50 (1 Unit)
