Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, February 8th 2025
Race 6: Atc Business Connect Sprint BM94 – 1000m - 3:25pm (AEDT)
(2) Midwest: 6YO gelding who was back to his front running best last start after being disappointing when resuming. He remains at 1000m and gets in nicely with a 2kg claim. Draws a sticky gate, but if he can ping to the front he will take catching. Value.
(4) Shezanalister: Value pick of the race who has trialled really well on both occasions leading into this and she has a terrific first up record along with loving this trip. She was solid last prep behind some talented types and is deserving a win. This looks slightly easier and with the way Bjorn Baker has them going this year I’m happy to be on at the each way price.
(5) Austmarr: 4YO Mare who has a pretty tidy resume and has beaten home some classy types. This is another tough test, but gets a nice draw and goes well fresh. Speedy type who deserves to be favourite with his record over this trip. 6: 3-3-0.
(4) Shezanalister E/W
$6.50/$2.30 (1u/2u)
Race 8: Asahi Super Dry Eskimo Prince Stakes - 1200m - 4:35pm (AEDT)
(1) Linebacker: 3YO who returns as a gelding and will have plenty of followers. Talented type and is expected to only improve now that hes gelded. He has been handy in both of his trials and is proven first up. Draws well and K-Mac steers. Chance.
(3) Mayfair: Resuming 3YO Colt who was terrific last time round and has some handy form lines (STORM BOY/BROADSIDING/LADY SHENANDOAH). He meets some similar opponents from last prep and with set weights he gets my vote as he has proven he can beat GATSBY/JUST PARTY and he only benefits further with set weights. Sticky gate, but Tim Clark will aim to get to the front and put this to bed. Gritty type and will be hard to run down.
(4) Just Party: The roughie of the field who ended his campaign nicely finishing second on both occasions ANODE & PROST. He has a trial win and is expected to only improve this prep. Knockout hope.
(3) Mayfair
$4.60 (1.5 units)
Race 10: Mostyncopper BM78 - 1200m – 5:55pm (AEDT)
(2) Able Willie: Roughie of the field who finished off nicely first up and has since gone for a freshen up and trialled again. He goes well over 1200m and if they are making any ground throughout the day this fella is worth thought. Blow out hope.
(10) Hezdamhottoo: 3YO Gelding who has returned nicely with a first up run going down to the bob of the head and he unfortunately finished on the wrong side of the bob, but had gaps to third. (Open Grade). Second up run was over this trip/grade and he looked home kicking down the straight, but got swooped by YISKA late who is no slouch. No knock on either run thus far. Id expect him to only be fitter now for this third up run and he only lugs an extra kilo for this outing. James McDonald gets into the saddle for the first time and once again this bloke looks a top hope. Must be respected.
(16) Mawjood: Not far away when resuming finishing just behind POINT AND SHOOT who has since gone on to frank the form. and then pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia latest. Happy to forgive and if he is back fit he deserves to be in the market. Maps okay and will be launching late. Each way.
(10) Hezdamhottoo
