Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, February 15th 2025
Race 4: Wellington Racing Club BM88 – 1600m – 2:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Yorkshire $2.40: 4YO Gelding who has built an impressive CV thus far and doesn’t show any signs of stopping. He has been sensational. Most recently steered by J-Mac and the run was to perfection. He continued to extend through to the line to win comfortably. He meets similar opponents here and with Anna ROPER into the saddle claiming 3kg he will only need to lug an extra half a kilo off last start. Suited out to the mile and once again looks hard to beat.
(4) Headley Grange $9.50/$2.80: 4YO Gelding who has been racing in red hot form. Notched up too handy wins and then jumped to a much tougher grade and hit the line nicely to only finish behind Highlights. Rock hard fit and must be respected again. Only concern is the wide draw.
(12) Cinque Torri $18.00/$4.80: Roughie of the field who wasn’t all that far away last time out. Gets a much better draw and should be fitter again. Maps well and if he can dictate up on the speed he is a sniff. Blow out hope.

Race 5: Expressway Stakes - 1200m - 4:50pm (AEDT)
(2) Magic Time $3.40: Talented 5YO Mare who returns off a break. She loves this track and this distance and is proven first up. With the rail out and with her mapping to most likely lead, I think she is a good chance of pinching this and being difficult to run down. Pending how the track is playing and what conditions we end up with on race day. Takes catching.
(4) Iwona Merc $8.00/$3.25: 5YO Gelding who is rock hard fit and has notched up a few nice results. Up in class, but remains at 1200m and has a terrific record over this track. Draws well, light weight and if they are making ground, she will map the best out of the lot of them and is a good chance of picking them all up. Over the odds.
(5) Joliestar $2.40: There has been a lot of hype around this mare, and she has proven she is talented, but then had a few poor results when well supported. Has since trialled nicely and does her best work fresh. Probably deserves to be favourite, but I’m happy to miss with the price.
(4) Iwona Merc

Race 8: The Apollo Stakes - 1400m – 4:35pm (AEDT)
(1) Ceolwulf $4.50: 4YO gelding who had a break out season last prep and would have gained plenty of followers. Resumes today, but is yet to win fresh. Watch the market.
(5) Via Sistina $2.00: 7YO Mare who is returning off her demolition job in the 2024 WS Cox Plate where she tore shreds off them. Trialled well and looks in good order to have another fantastic prep. Incredible record and as a 125 rater she looks awfully hard to beat. Happy to take the early price of $2 and expect it to only shorten.
(6) Fangirl $4.50: Stablemate to Via Sistina who is also a clear talent and probably should’ve had a few more wins last prep. Goes well first up and loves this track/distance. Can handle the soft track and will be around the mark.
(5) Via Sistina
