Top Fantasy Plays
VALUE
Jaiyden Hunt ($8,780) has been named to start on an edge, at almost bottom dollar, what’s not to love? The obvious concerns are a late switch, but given the makeup of the Broncos bench, not only does Hunt look likely to start, he’s also likely to punch out solid minutes. In just the one game off the bench this season, Hunt managed to score 28 in just 22 minutes, showing attacking upside at a position that thrives on it. If he plays 65+ minutes, I believe a score of 35+ as a floor is on, which is immense value.
Selwyn Cobbo ($9,990) dominated the Roosters in round 1, scoring three tries, whilst breaking the line once, and busting six tackles on his way to a great score of 46.66. The Roosters have conceded a whopping 40% of their tries this season on their left edge, exactly where Cobbo will be attacking. Whilst I’m not expecting three tries, one or two is surely within the realms of possibility, and for a price under $10k, is worth a crack.
MID PRICE
Gehamat Shibasaki (13,160) has thrived under the coaching of Michael Maguire, and now looks almost undroppable in the centres for the Broncos. Whilst the Roosters have struggled on their left edge, hence the Cobbo play, the Broncos left edge attack has been almost unstoppable this season, scoring 16 tries (57%) on their left edge in five games. Shibasaki managed a score of 50 in round 1 against the Roosters, and given he only scored the one try, this is replicable in my opinion.
David Fifita ($15,660) has slowly been building up his match fitness, to the point where his minutes are closing in on his usual playing time. With four straight scores over 40 without bulk attacking stats, Fifita has shown that his floor now is around the 40-45 mark, but with his enormous upside, and reduction in price, Fifita is a great play, and someone who can catapult you into the money with one of his standout performances.
PREMIUM
Jayden Campbell ($19,960) continues to be the man for the Titans, and his floor is undeniable. Last week, when the Titans were hammered by the Dolphins, Campbell still managed to punch out 51 points. I believe the Titans will look a lot better this week after a poor performance in round 5, and Campbell should be a big part of that. Has shown even in a blowout loss that his floor is 51, and with the upside to score into the 80s, is my best pick in this slate amongst the elite players. Forwards Haas and Carrigan have shown to be slowing down a little, and Adam Reynolds went off injured last weekend so could be in some doubt. Give me Campbell.
Siua Wong ($18,630) has quickly started to show his abilities this season, after struggling for consistency in his first full season in 2024. Wong is now consistently an 80-minute edge forward for the Roosters and is not only a solid worker (averaging 42.5 tackles per game, but it’s his attacking ability that has pushed him into the elite category in fantasy. Managed 5 offloads last week, one of which turned into a line-break assist / try assist combo. Wong is an excellent selection if you have the coin.
