The Brownlow medal is always a great market to have some investment in, especially at the end of a season when we get a fresh set of odds to consider for all the main contenders for the upcoming year. At the time of writing the Lions have just clinched the 2024 Premiership, so let's take a look at the Brownlow odds for 2025.
Patrick Cripps was the runaway Brownlow winner in 2024 with a record breaking 45 votes! You can currently get $8.00 odds for Cripps to become the first back-to-back winner of Charlie since Robert Harvey (1998/99).
Nick Daicos is the back-to-back runner-up and finished with 38 votes in 2024, which also broke the then Brownlow record of 36 votes, so he can consider himself very unlucky to not have his hands on the medal yet. Daicos, like at the beginning of last season, is the current Brownlow favourite at $6.00 odds.
The only other player at a $10 quote or less is Swans star midfielder Isaac Heeney. He finished equal 4th in 2024 but was ineligble to win due to suspension.
The other podium finisher in 2024 was Zak Butters and his odds look quite long at $26. This makes him the equal 13th favourite for the award and equal odds with his midfield running mate in Jason Horne-Francis ($26).
Tom Green polled well with 27 votes in the recent count and there should be more improvement to come from the young GWS star. You can currently get $13 for him to take home Charlie in 2025.
The other main fancies that are always in the mix are 2x Brownlow winner Lachie Neale ($17), and Bulldogs superstar Marcus Bontempelli ($15) who criminally underpolled in 2024 with just 19 votes.
Will Ashcroft has seen his Brownlow odds come right into $21 after his Norm Smith winning performance in the Grand Final. He looks primed for a big 2025 where he'll be joined by his highly-touted brother, Levi.
