Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, June 8th 2024
Race 3: Tab Highway Hcp Class 3 1100m – 11:35am (AEST)
(9) Soul Lady $12.00/$3.80: Always tough picking a highway winner, but this 3YO filly has a terrific record and gets in very well at the weights here after winning over 1200m last start by 2.5L carrying 60.5kg. Looks a great each way value pick here if she doesn’t get caught in traffic or too far back from the gate. Worth a small dabble.
(22) Acappella Sun $7.00: The long-priced favourite who has been close on plenty of occasions. Fresh today and goes well on the heavy. Looks a sniff being fresh here.
(1) Ramones $8.50: Rock hard fit and gets the pole position today with a nice 2kg claim engaged. Proven on the wet and will need to be caught.
(9) Soul Lady E/W
$12.00/$3.80 (1 Unit)
Race 4: Year and Life Member BM72 2000m 12:10pm (AEST)
(14) Bestower $7.50/$2.60: 3YO filly who has been terrific of late and deserves another crack here. Only concern is she has been running on the heavy/soft tracks all prep, so will be taking its toll. 2 weeks between run, so hoping she is still rock hard fit and ready to tackle this. Draws wide, but expect her to slot in midfield and saving up for that nice TOF she has to launch late.
(1) Invincible Spy $5.00: Fav of the race and is 4 from 6 attempts. Leader from the Waterhouse stable with a 2kg claim engage. Respect.
(16) Piggy Back $6.50/$2.45: Backed by everyone last start and failed to fire. Deserves another chance being fourth up and with a 2kg claim engaged. Must be in the exotic.
(14) Bestower E/W
$7.50/$2.60 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Lord Mayors Cup 2000m– 2:30pm (AEST)
(5) Sibaaq $6.50/$2.25: 6YO who meets similar rivals again here that have all come out of the Scone Cup two weeks ago. Finished less than a length behind the winner, SKY LAB who he meets again here and the second-place getter in WATERFORD who he also meets better at the weights. Draws a nice gate and maps to be up on the pace which looks like where youd want to be on this deck especially if they aren’t running on in the early races, id be even more keen to go all chips in. Will go close.
(6) Sir Lucan $4.80 :6YO gelding who has won over this trip before and goes well on the soft. Proven fourth up and if he can jump well and get to the front he is a big sniff. Wide draw only concern here.
(1) Sky Lab $10.00/$3.00: First up win was very impressive ion the Scone Cup where he flew home to pick them all up. Draws a better gate today which should help with sitting a little closer, but he is happy his way and demands respect off that previous win. Lugs top weight, but if they are making ground throughout the early races he is a main danger again here.
(5) Sibaaq E/W
$6.50/$2.25 (1 Unit)
