Sale Racing Club gets a rare chance to host midweek racing in Victoria on another week where there is little to no rain about. The track however will be a Soft5 and gallopers will start racing five minutes after midday. Race 1 is for the maidens and looks very tough, so we’ll leave that alone - although we still have three other bets to look forward to on the day.

Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday, May 29th 2024
Race 3: Sale Signtorque Maiden Plate - 1:10pm (AEST)
(7) Tosinsky has enough experience under his belt now to show that he has what it takes and I think today is the day that he can break his duck. He settles handy in his races and he was 3rd in a stronger race than this at Hillside last start. From barrier 8, Childs should bring him over and he will push forward and the extra 117m in distance looks to be of no issue. He remains with 59.5kg but he looks better than these.
(2) Boom Bang has placed on the Soft before but has a wide barrier to contend with in 13. He ran home well at Moe for 2nd last start and from the draw will have to go back
(13) Wokou has ran a couple of quality races on Soft tracks and does get a 2kg weight swing on the fav. Has a good barrier in 2 and should place.
(7) Tosinsky

Race 4: Gipps Wifi Maiden Plate - 1:45pm (AEST)
(9) Maid In Dubai was favourite and 3rd at Moe last start but was in the wrong part of the track. Should improve again and an each-way play looks appealing, and we should at least be getting our money back here. In both runs since her spell she has made up late ground and the extra 200m looks like it will suit. Egan, who has ridden her previously, has barrier 8 here and if the filly jumps better in this race, then she should be going close.
(2) Auto Max has the inside draw and having Brad Rawiller on in his 4th start is a good get. He was just fair at Mornington last start when 5th but improvement is expected.
(10) Quafftide trains at Sale and may benefit from familiar surroundings after an impressive jumpout win at Cranbourne last week. He wasn’t beaten too far in both career starts and is first up from a spell.
(9) Maid In Dubai E/W
$5.50/$1.85 (1 Unit)
Race 5: Benson Group Contractors Handicap - 2:20pm (AEST)
(4) New Sovereign won two starts back and broke his maiden at Pakenham and then was 3rd last time out at the same track after sitting outside of the leader. He returns to a favourable Soft track here and from barrier 5 Ethan Brown should be able to get a gun run. He did get tired in that race so the Price & Kent Stable has reduced his distance to 1400m which looks ideal.
(3) Noble Conqueror is hit and miss but did run well when winning a Flemington trial last week. He has raced in harder races than this and has the astute training of Waller.
(1) Dunloe for the in-form Hayes Team gets a good chance here but does meet a Soft track for the first time. He usually settles on pace and McDougall will have to come over from barrier 8. He led all of the way to win his maiden and may lead again here if the jock pushes him.
(4) New Sovereign
$3.20 (2 Units)
