Newcastle Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 3rd 2024
Race 5: Sharp Office Provincial Hcp C1 1250m – 4:05pm (AEDT)
(3) Callistemon $7.50/$2.45: 3YO filly who finally broke maiden last start after being around the mark with all of her last 5 outings. Very nice win last start over 900m where she was off the pace tucked in on the fence and found room on the corner and exploded late to pick the leader up to win on the line. Gapped third by about 6L. Looks suited second up now out to 1250m off that run and gets a 3kg claim here to remain at the same weight as last start. Should go well again.
(2) Invincible Whip $4.20: Early favourite who had a nice debut preparation and will only be improving. Draws a sticky gate, but worth thought from this stable. Watch the Market.
(3) Callistemon
$7.50/$2.45 (1 Unit)
Race 6: The Prince Of Merewether BM64 1850m 4:40pm (AEDT)
(5) Rothrock $17/$4.60: 5YO mare who won well on the heavy deck over 1750m getting a nice rail run to score by 2L to second and gapped third. Last start hit the line strongly over the mile and narrowly missed out on pipping the tiring leader. Looks suited back up in distance now off that last start run and will only be fitter. Rachel KING to steer boosts confidence.
(10) Dances With Hooves $3.70: Early favourite who has been crunched already. Last start winner where she flew home to score. Should be ready for this distance now and rock hard fit.
(5) Rothrock
$17/$4.60 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Plytrack Provincial-Midway Championship WC Plate 1400m 5:15pm (AEDT)
(9) Terra Mater $4.20: 4YO mare who won 3 on the trot to start this prep and then had zero luck last start where she was caught 3-4wide the entire trip and still flew home to only finish 1.5L behind the winner who had a soft time in front. Deserved to finish closer there with a turn of luck. Gets in superb again here with set weights and if she gets a better run in transit she will be flying again late and should be picking them up. Goes well.
(1) Willinga Freefall $4.00: 5YO who boasts a nice record and ran a nice race first up to run the drum. Fitter now for this second up run where he is proven and likes this trip. Dangerous combo of Collett and Lees. Worth thought.
(9) Terra Mater
$4.20 (3 Units)
