There were plenty of upsets in Round 3 of the NBL25 season which made it tough to find winners, although we did still end up slightly ahead of the ledger (+0.6U) to take us to +6U for the season. We now turn our attention to Round 4 where there are six games on the schedule, with the first of those getting underway on Thursday night. As always, we bring you our free betting tips for all Round 4 games below!

Illawarra Hawks vs Tasmania JackJumpers
Saturday 5:30pm AEDT, WIN Entertainment Centre
The Illawarra Hawks saw their undefeated start to NBL25 come to an end in Round 3 when they lost to the 36ers at home by two points. Despite the loss, Trey Kell continued his excellent start to the season with 29 points, and Tyler Harvey hit a number of big shots to finish with 22 points. The Hawks are now 3-1 on the season which is currently good enough for second spot in the standings.
The Tasmania JackJumpers looked en route to a pair of Round 3 losses before some fourth quarter heroics from Milton Doyle and Majok Deng saw them pull off a big comeback win. The JackJumpers have now traded wins and losses through their first four games, and are yet to win on the road. They currently occupy seventh spot in the standings.
The Hawks are the deserving favourites here but are certainly no shoo-in against the dangerous JackJumpers. However, it’s the total points market which I’m interested in. Each of the last six JackJumpers games have gone under the total points line and they’ve really struggled offensively so far, putting up totals of 79, 81, 78, and 84. And while the Hawks have been humming on that end of the floor, I expect the defence of the JackJumpers to be good enough to see the unders salute.

SE Melbourne Phoenix vs Brisbane Bullets
Saturday 8:00pm AEDT, John Cain Arena
The Nathan Sobey Cup concludes Saturday night hoops action, as the Phoenix welcome the Bullets to John Cain Arena in Melbourne. It should be a spicy contest with Sobey coming up against his former side, particularly after some of the comments made during the week.
Adding extra spice to this clash is the fact that both clubs are yet to get off the mark this season, with the Phoenix currently 0-4 and in last place, while the Bullets are 0-3 and one spot above them.
This will be the first game of the season where the Phoenix have a genuine home crowd advantage, so they should get a little boost from that. I also feel as though the Bullets have the least talent to work with in the competition, and they need to make some changes with their imports who have done very little so far. For these reasons, I’m happy to be with the Phoenix here.

Sydney Kings vs Cairns Taipans
Sunday 2:30pm AEDT, Qudos Bank Arena
The Sydney Kings were horrible in their clash with the 36ers on Friday night, losing by 10 points in a sluggish display. Star point guard Jaylen Adams barely played due to a back injury and he remains a game time decision on Sunday, while Xavier Cooks also looked underdone and struggled throughout the game. On a positive note, Cam Oliver had his best game of the season and Keli Leaupepe continued to impress.
The Cairns Taipans fought hard but couldn’t get over the line against Bryce Cotton and the Wildcats on Thursday night. They were without gun point guard Taran Armstrong and he’ll miss again on Sunday, but will hopefully return for Round 5. Tanner Groves also remains out with a calf injury which will give Kyrin Galloway and AK Gak more minutes.
Both clubs are class outfits and this should be a great game for viewers, but it’s one which is tough to get a read on from a H2H perspective, as the Kings have all the talent in the world but are still somewhat unreliable. Instead, I’ll be backing in the unders in the total points market. This has saluted in each of the past five meetings between these clubs, and both are set to be without key offensive players on Sunday.
