Boston Celtics at Dallas Mavericks

Game 3 of the NBA Finals followed a similar script to the two preceding games, with the Celtics controlling the contest for the majority before the Mavericks mounted a challenge only to ultimately fall short.
Jayson Tatum took charge early for the Celtics with 18 first half points but cooled off in the second half. However, Jaylen Brown took over after the main break and finished with 30 points in another stat-stuffing display, which is terrific for our followers if you took advantage of the early FMVP odds.
Kristaps Porzingis was sidelined with a leg injury which opened up the lob threat for the Celtics, although they weren’t able to capitalise on many occasions. Porzingis is still expected to be inactive on Saturday as he’s currently listed as questionable, and it would be strange if the Celtics risk him given their commanding lead.
For the Mavericks, Luka Doncic finished the night with 27 points and fouled out with five minutes to go in regulation due to a couple of iffy calls. Kyrie Irving had by far his best game of the series with 35 points, but failed to make an impact when needed down the stretch.
Game 4 Prediction: No team in NBA Playoff history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit and that has to be a demoralising stat for the Mavericks. Regardless of that, it’s the total points market which tickles my fancy once again, with the line being set at the familiar 212.5 points. Each of the last six Finals games have gone under that market, including all three in this series. I’m keen to go back to the well again here.

Jayson Tatum 25+ Points – Tatum had his best game of the series in Game 3 but was still upstaged by his partner in crime in Jaylen Brown. Tatum had 26 shots last start and I expect him to let it fly once again.
