NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, March 4th 2025
Portland Trail Blazers at Philadelphia 76ers (11:00am AEDT)
The Trail Blazers head into their matchup against the 76ers with confidence despite their recent overtime loss to the league-leading Cavaliers. That defeat ended a four-game winning streak for Portland, but their strong performance, including Deni Avdija’s first career triple-double, showed they can compete at a high level. Sitting at 27-34 and five games behind the 10th seed in the West, the Trail Blazers still have a chance to push for a Play-In spot, making this a crucial game.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, finally ended a nine-game losing streak with a win over the Warriors in their last outing. However, it has been a disastrous season for the 76ers, who recently shut down Joel Embiid for the remainder of the campaign. At 21-38, they are just two games back from the 10th seed in the East, but given their recent struggles, their chances of making a serious impact are slim. The victory against Golden State was much-needed, but consistency has been a major issue.
With the Trail Blazers showing strong form despite their latest loss and the 76ers continuing to struggle, Portland has a real opportunity to secure another valuable road win and represent terrific value in this matchup.

Houston Rockets at OKC Thunder (12:00pm AEDT)
The Rockets head into this matchup sitting 5th in the Western Conference with a 37-23 record, looking to bounce back from their recent loss to the Kings. Despite that defeat, Houston has won five of its last eight games and remains one of the more balanced teams in the league. With a strong defensive unit featuring multiple versatile defenders, the Rockets have the personnel to challenge the Thunder’s top-rated offence. They will need to be locked in on that end to have a chance of slowing down the Western Conference leaders.
Oklahoma City continues to dominate the standings, boasting a 49-11 record and sitting 10.5 games clear at the top of the West. The Thunder are on a three-game winning streak and have been in complete control throughout the season, with their high-powered offence leading the way. They hold a 2-1 lead in the season series against Houston, and given their consistency, they will be confident of adding another win. However, with this being the second game of a back-to-back, fatigue could be a factor.
The Thunder’s dominance makes them the clear favourites, but the Rockets’ defensive versatility gives them a strong chance of keeping the game competitive and covering the +10.5 spread.

Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks
The Kings are beginning to find their rhythm after making several key moves at the trade deadline, and their recent form reflects that. They enter this matchup on a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last eight, pushing themselves up to 9th in the Western Conference. Now just 0.5 games behind 6th place, Sacramento is surging at the right time and will see this as a crucial opportunity to continue their climb. With their new-look roster clicking, they will be confident of maintaining their momentum.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are trending in the opposite direction, having lost three of their last four games and slipping to 10th in the West. Their struggles have been compounded by significant frontcourt injuries, with Davis, Gafford, Lively, and Washington all sidelined. This leaves Dallas severely undermanned in the paint, limiting their ability to match up physically against bigger teams. With depth issues mounting, they will need to rely heavily on their perimeter play to stay competitive.
Given the Kings’ recent form and the Mavericks’ injury concerns, Sacramento looks well-positioned to capitalise. With a more complete lineup and stronger momentum, they represent good value to come away with the win.
