NBA Tuesday 4th February Betting Tips
New Orleans Pelicans at Denver Nuggets
1.00pm (AEDT)
The Pelicans are currently 12-37 and sit 14th in the Western Conference. They're on a five-game losing streak but it’s uncertain that they will be keen to turn things around when they travel to Denver on Tuesday. They are right in the mix for the coveted No.1 pick at the moment, and couldn’t be blamed for riding the rest of the season out with the lacklustre form they are currently showing.
As they have been for the past few years, the Nuggets are sitting pretty near the top of the West, currently maintaining a 30-19 record, good for fourth place in the conference. Three time MVP Nikola Jokic has been on a tear again this season, averaging a ridiculous 29.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game.
Can’t see the Pels being a match for the Nuggets in this one, who will be near full strength and at home, where they have a dominant 14-8 record this season. Back them to win, and convincingly, covering the 11.5 point spread in the process.
Orlando Magic at Golden State Warriors
2.00pm (AEDT)
The Magic are right on the bubble in the Eastern Conference, sitting in eighth place with a 24-26 record through 50 games. They have been poor on the road, with a 9-17 record straight up and will be travelling again on Tuesday as they head to Oracle Arena. Jalen Suggs has been a key cog for the Magic, averaging 14.2 points and 4.1 assists per game this season, but is currently listed as questionable for the clash.
The Warriors sit in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 24-24 record. They have been hindered by injuries to key players throughout the season, and could be without starting forward Draymond Green on Tuesday night, who is currently battling a calf injury. Steph Curry has also had a slight decline on the lofty standards he has set over the past decade, averaging just 22.1 points and 6.2 assists this season.
Like the look of the unders here. The Warriors and magic both sit in the bottom four teams in the league this season when it comes to hitting the overs, combining for a 32-48 record in favour of the unders in all of their games. Back this one to be a low scoring affair.
Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers
2.00pm (AEDT)
The Suns sit in eight place in the Western Conference with a 25-23 record. They are coming off a disappointing loss to the Blazers in Portland on Sunday and will be backing it up just two games later with another game at the Moda Center for a shot at redemption. The Suns haven’t been short of scorers this season, with Durant (26.9), Booker (25.9) and Beal (16.9) all putting up numbers.
The Blazers are all the way down in 13th place in the Western Conference but have been on the march of late, winning seven of their last 10 games and their last three in a row. They outscored the Suns bu 19 points a few nights ago, led by former Sun Deandre Ayton, who put up 24 points and 7 rebounds.
The Suns start as 4.5 point favourites on the road despite losing this exact matchup a few days ago. They will, however, be full strength for this clash and I expect them to bounce back here and cover the 4.5 point spread.
