New York Knicks at Miami Heat
Kaseya Center, 10:30am AEDT
The Knicks have suffered a pair of heartbreaking losses in a row and now head to Miami for a crucial matchup with the Heat. Two starts back Jalen Brunson scored a career-high 61 points against the Spurs, but it was all in vain as his team went down by four points in overtime. Most recently, the Knicks pushed the #1 seed in the West in the Thunder all the way on their home deck but ultimately came up one point short. Still, the Knicks remain in fourth spot in the East and three games clear of the Heat in seventh. Speaking of the Heat, they’ve been building nicely in the back half of the regular season and enter this slate having won six of their last nine games. They’ve reeled off a couple of easy wins in a row against struggling sides in the Blazers and the Wizards, and should be well rested to take on the Knicks as a result. The Heat are also expected to be at near full strength with only Tyler Herro missing, while the Knicks will continue to be without Julius Randle and OG Anunoby. All things considered, the Heat deserve to be shorter odds than they are and look to be one of the better bets of the day.

Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 1pm AEDT
A couple of Western Conference contenders will come together later on in the Wednesday slate, as the Dallas Mavericks head to the Bay Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Mavericks have been one of the form teams of the competition over the past month and enter this game on a seven-game win streak. Although it must be said three of those wins were against the bottom dwellers of the league. Elsewhere, the Warriors are in some decent form of their own with wins in each of their last four outings, all of which were on the road. The Warriors now return home with nearly a full complement of their players with only Dario Saric expected to miss. We all know how dangerous a healthy Warriors team can be at the business end of a season, and with a lot on the line in terms of playoff seedings, I expect them to come out on top on their home deck.

Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings
Golden 1 Center, 1pm AEDT
Last but not least the Clippers will make a short stopover to Sacramento on Wednesday to take on the Kings. The Clippers have gotten themselves healthy recently and that’s seen them get back to their early season form where they were reeling off wins for fun. They’ve won three in a row, all on the road, and all against teams in the East. Meanwhile, the Kings are coming off an easy 21-point win at home against the Jazz which has kept them in touch with the top six. As it stands, they’re 1.5 games behind the Pelicans in sixth and have eight games remaining. With so much at stake for the Kings, I’m expecting a big performance on their home deck on Wednesday. A loss against the Clippers will make it incredibly difficult to achieve a top six finish, and I expect them to play with the necessary intensity to avoid that happening.
