Orlando Magic at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 10:30am AEST
Looking to lock in a top six spot with a win on Wednesday, the Orlando Magic will head to Texas to take on the Houston Rockets. The Magic have been one of the biggest surprise packets this season and have kept on keeping on when most expected a drop off. They enter this slate having won four of their last five games including last start against the Bulls who they easily dispatched by 15 points (113-98). Elsewhere, the Rockets have surprised a few by their competitive season but will ultimately fall one spot short of post-season action. Their 38 wins would currently be good enough for ninth spot in the East, but unfortunately, it's in the West where they reside and it’s a far stronger conference. The writing has been on the wall for the Rockets for a while now and they’ve lost five in a row heading into this clash. The Magic won their earlier meeting with the Rockets by 30 points this season and although it should be closer this time around, they should come out on top once again.

Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 12pm AEST
The current #4 seed in the West in the Los Angeles Clippers will travel to the desert on Wednesday to take on the #6 seed Phoenix Suns. The Clippers enter the slate on a three-game win streak, all of which were on their home deck at Crypo.com Arena. Their most recent road game ended in a disappointing 14-point loss in Sacramento (95-109), although they had won three in a row on their travels prior. Meanwhile, the Suns are doing all they can to ensure they bypass the Play-In Tournament, although their chances took a big hit last start when they were defeated by the #7 seed Pelicans (105-113). That loss snapped a three-game win streak, all of which were against teams in the playoffs. Regardless, the Suns have more to play for in this meeting with the Clippers who will be without Kawhi Leonard and potentially James Harder (questionable). I expect the Suns to be the hungrier dog in the fight and to come away with a comfortable win.
Phoenix Suns -7.5

Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers
Crpyto.com Arena, 12pm AEST
Old Rivals Steph Curry and LeBron James are set for yet another clash this Wednesday, as the Golden State Warriors head to LA to take on the Lakers. The Warriors currently occupy 10th spot in the West but can improve on their position with a strong last fortnight in the regular season. Similarly, the Lakers are in ninth spot in the West and will also be keen to improve their standing to ensure an easier route in the Play-In Tournament. Both teams are expected to have their stars available for this clash, with only Saric unavailable for the Warriors and Wood and Vanderbilt out for the Lakers. Both clubs have also been in strong form over the past couple of weeks, winning four of their last five games. Admittedly, there’s very little to split these teams and the odds reflect that, although with homecourt advantage on their side and more star power to draw from in such a big game, I’m keen to side with the Lakers here.
