NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, March 21st 2024
Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers
Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, 10am AEDT
The Heat were disappointing last start against the undermanned 76ers who they lost to by seven points (91-98), which snapped their two-game win streak with both of those coming against the lowly Pistons. Taking out those two wins against the clearly rebuilding Pistons, the Heat have lost five in a row against serious outfits. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are coming off a three-game road trip in which they went 2-1. Donovan Mitchell continues to miss with injury, although the rest of the squad has been able to make hay in his absence. Looking ahead to this clash and I’m surprised to see it priced as a neat even-money contest. The Heat will be without Tyler Herro and potentially Jimmy Butler (questionable) as well, which makes it tough to see them winning on current form. With that said, I’m more than happy to take the Cavs to win who will be keen to be back in front of their home fans.

Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 10:30am AEDT
Two Eastern Conference heavyweights will do battle in one of the early contests on Thursday, with the Bucks travelling to Boston to face the Celtics. The Bucks are coming off a couple of strong home wins against the 76ers and the Suns and will be eager to continue their winning streak. However, they face the toughest test in basketball at the moment which is taking on the Celtics at the TD Garden. The Celtics are an unbelievable 31-3 at home this season and most recently saw off the Pistons by 25 points. They’re currently riding a six-game win streak and with superstar Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo listed as questionable, I’ll be backing the home side to record their seventh straight double-figure margin win.
Boston Celtics -8.5

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 1pm AEDT
The Grizzlies will be hoping to end a three-game slide when they head to the Bay Area on Thursday. Last time out the Grizzlies lost in overtime against the Spurs in a game in which Victor Wembanyama dominated. That loss made it two in a row on their travels to bring their season road record to 15-19. Elsewhere, the Warriors have found the going tough in recent weeks with only two wins from their past five. They’d be bitterly disappointed with their most recent loss against the undermanned Knicks and will be desperate to make amends on Thursday. With that said, I foresee an easy win for the home side and am happy to back them in to bounce back strongly.
Golden State Warriors -9.5
