San Antonio Spurs at Detroit Pistons
Little Caesars Arena, 11am AEDT
The two worst teams in the Association go head-to-head on Thursday with the Spurs travelling to Detroit to duel with the Pistons. The skill level might not be at all that high in this 11am contest, but the entertainment factor most definitely will be. 2023 #1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama has been on a tear over his past five games and will be suiting up in this one for the Spurs, although the #1 pick from the 2021 draft in Cade Cunningham will be absent for the Pistons. The Pistons enter this contest having lost 30 of their last 31 games which is one of the worst such stretches in NBA history, although the Spurs aren’t much better having won only two of their last 30. Still, the Spurs have been the slightly more competitive team and will also be at near full strength, while the Pistons will be without their best player. The Spurs should be coming away on top as a result.

New Orleans Pelicans at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 12:30pm AEDT
The Pelicans have been one of the form teams in the league over the past couple of months and will get another big test on Tuesday when they travel to the Bay Area to take on the Warriors. The Pelicans produced a 30-point demolition job of the Kings on the road in their most recent outing to make it five wins from their last six games as well as six wins in a row on their travels. In contrast, the Warriors are struggling mightily right now and enter this slate with only two wins from their past seven games. The Warriors will be playing their seventh straight game of a lengthy homestand and will be disappointed to have gone 2-4 thus far. Clearly, the Pelicans are the form team in this matchup and deserve to be the clear favourites in my opinion. They’re shooting for seven in a row on the road and look to be in great shape to get it done.

Toronto Raptors at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 2:30pm AEDT
Last to go on Thursday’s 10-game slate is the Raptors at Clippers matchup which will be played at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Raptors will be on the second night of an LA back-to-back, after taking on the Lakers on Wednesday. The Raptors came up short by one point in a game that have over 20 lead changes throughout. It doesn’t get any easier for the Raptors on Thursday as they’ll be taking on the form team of the competition. The Clippers enter this matchup having won six of their last seven including four in a row at home. Most recently they destroyed the Suns by 27 points when putting up a whopping 138. They seemingly have another easy kill on their hands on Thursday as the Raptors will be fatigued from such a competitive clash the day prior.
Los Angeles Clippers -9.5
