NBA Betting Tips: Sunday, January 28th 2024
Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets
Ball Arena, 9:30am AEDT
What a juicy matchup this is with two of the premier clubs from their respective divisions locking horns once more. They met for the first time this season only a week or so ago and it was the 76ers who were able to defend homecourt on the back of a huge performance from MVP front-runner Joel Embiid. He poured in 41 points in the win although his side were only able to come away with a narrow five-point win. The two-game season series now heads to Denver where the Nuggets have played incredibly well over the past couple of seasons. All the stars are expected to be in action which sets a must-win clash in the early timeslot. The Nuggets will be desperate to get one back on a fellow contender and will be confident considering they’ve won three in a row at Ball Arena. I expect them to bounce back here with a strong win in front of their fans.

Los Angeles Clippers at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11am AEDT
Next up in the juicy matchups of the day will take place in Boston with the Celtics hosting the Clippers at the TD Garden. The Clippers have been the form team of the competition over the past couple of weeks and will head to enemy territory on a four-game win streak. Meanwhile, the Celtics have won three in a row although they lost their last one at home against the Nuggets which was their first loss on home soil this campaign. Clearly, the Celtics are a force to be reckoned with at the TD Garden, but they’ll have their hands full on Sunday, particularly at the defensive end as the Clippers possess some of the best firepower in the Association. With that in mind, I’m predicting this to be a close one with the Clippers covering the generous spread.
Los Angeles Clippers +7.5

Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors
Chase Center, 12:30pm AEDT
Last on our agenda for Sunday hoops is a rivalry matchup between the Lakers and the Warriors at the Chase Center. Neither team is in particularly good form and both could use a win to start to build momentum as we near the All-Star break. With that said, the Lakers will be the more confident team after taking care of business against the Bulls last start, while the Warriors had to settle for a loss against a more polished Kings outfit. The Warriors have now lost five of their last seven games and are frantically tweaking lineups and matchups in order to try and find a winning recipe. As it stands, I’m far from sold on the way they’re operating and am keen to oppose them in this clash against the Lakers.
