The Valley will host a massive 11-race program on Saturday with the William Reid Stakes headlining the day. I can’t remember a day where 11 races has been run in Melbourne, but it will be interesting the see how it plays out for industry participants and spectators. There was 10mls of rain on the track on Thursday, and gallopers will run on a Soft surface with the first starting at 12:15pm (AEDT). It's a tough day but there are winners to be found. My three best bets are below!

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Saturday, March 22nd 2025
Race 5: Jack Hirsch Memorial Yarra Valley Cup - 2:30pm (AEDT)
(10) My Brothers Keeper is nice odds here at 10-1 and I’ll have a small each way bet here to start proceedings. He has placed on five occasions over the 2000m and I think the key here is that I think he will creep into the race nicely from the 400m mark. There is strong pace in this race and the leaders may get tired late, whilst the back markers run on. He drops a kilo for this and his Soft track form is solid enough.
(7) Ziryab is the likely leader in this race and with two runs under his belt, I think he can be in this for a long way but there is a lot of pace in this.
(1) Keats is the other likely leader and does race best on Soft tracks. Will settle in the top 2 though and is carrying 58kg.
(10) My Brothers Keeper E/W
$10/$2.90 (0.5 Units)
Race 7: Dynamic Group Print Alexandra Stakes Group 3 - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(4) Sneaky Sunrise for the Hayes Team has been knocking on the door with two thirds here last two starts and it was a good run in the Group 2 Kewny last start when double-figure odds. Before that and her only ever run on the Soft was a good 3rd at Flemington. Luke Currie gets the ride and will likely position her around midfield in the run and she is 100 percent fit now after two trial runs and it wouldn’t surprise me if this race was her target race.
(1) Too Darn Lizzie is 2 from 2 on Soft ground and she has placed in both starts over the mile. Craig Williams is on for the first time and he will take her forward.
(3) Gala Queen is having her first run on rain-affected ground and if she handles it, she can win too. Will get back in the run but is 1 from 1 over the mile.
(4) Sneaky Sunrise E/W
$4.80/$1.65 (1 Unit)
Race 11: Caspers Pies and Pastries Handicap - 6:05pm (AEDT)
(3) Hedged goes pretty good first up and a Soft track suits having won twice on top previously. Has been in the market his last three starts without saluting and will have admirers again here. Will improve off his Gold Coast 4th here I reckon as that was a much harder race in their carnival. Logan Bates gets the ride and gets the claim and this would be one of his biggest wins as a jock too.
(6) Extratwo loves The Valley and has won on six occasions over the 1200m. HIs latest run here was a 4th after making up steady ground and he gets Ethan Brown on again who has won on top before.
(10) Mytemptation is the fav but is 4 from 4 on Good tracks, not Soft. He is loves it here and was way too good for his rivals and Flemington last start. Willow stays on and he has a suitable barrier in 6 where he can settle in around 4th in the run.
(3) Hedged E/W
$6.50/$2.30 (1 Unit)
