Francisco Cerundolo vs Nuno Borges
This just wasn't quite a play for me yesterday, with Francisco Cerundolo backing up off winning a grass court title last week. However, the heavens opened at Wimbledon yesterday, resulting in this match being delayed to Day 3.
Although I am not someone who heavily considers the lead-in form the week before a grand slam, I was impressed with the way that Cerundolo was moving around the court considering how little he has played on the surface. The competition last week was solid, and has given me some added confidence in his ability to handle the surface and the conditions.
I am just not sure if I can say the same thing about Borges. He looked all at sea in Ilkley and Eastbourne, with his only wins on the surface in the lead-in against the unranked Hyeon Chung, 165th ranked Yunchaokete and 177th ranked Shimabukuro. The Shimabukuro form is relatively solid, however I cannot draw any correlations from any statistics that warrants a play on the +5 games here. The -5 games appeals here for a unit.
Cerundolo -5 games vs Borges

Frances Tiafoe vs Yibing Wu
When your only lead-in win on the grass comes against an injured player who hasn't played since late last year, it is a little hard to be compelled by their form against one of the form players of the tour. That's what we are dealing with here.
Wu Yibing was able to defeat Nick Kyrgios in Stuttgart, however his losses to Fucsovics, Rublev and Kecmanovic since are a little concerning. They are good players, however my concern lies more so with his first serve points won across those three matches sitting in the high 60% range. He is giving up opportunities on a regular basis, and against a player with a strong first serve, and solid court coverage/defensive skills, it does set up as a bit of a nightmare match-up for Wu.
Tiafoe -5.5 games vs Wu
