UFC Fight Night Preview & Betting Tips
Max Holloway vs. Chan Sung Jung
I will keep this short and sweet as this fight is not a betting prospect. Max Holloway is the best in the Featherweight division away from dominant champ Alexander Volkanovski and this matchup is a mismatch.
The Korean Zombie is now 36-years-old, was completely battered by Volkanovski, and is outgunned here. Chan Sung Jung does not have the wrestling to take down the Hawaiian and will be beat up on the feet. The $1.10 is about right and since it still only takes one punch and Holloway’s legendary chin is due to crack eventually, I am staying right out of it from a betting standpoint.

Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann
Both Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann come into this rematch on the back of defeats and sit outside the top 10 at 205 pounds. When the pair met in 2021 Smith took Spann down and submitted him with consummate ease.
So what has changed? Honestly not much which is why this is a peculiar match up as are the odds on offer. While Spann is still an explosive striker and he could murk Lionheart, more likely than not Smith takes it to the mat and gets a finish.
Anthony Smith to win

Giga Chikadze vs. Alex Caceres
Giga Chikadze returns for the first time in 2023 to take on Alex Caceres this weekend. Chikadze last time out was brutalised by Calvin Kattar in January 2022. Prior to that, however, he showed that he can out strike most of the division, throwing with both volume and power.
His opponent Alex Careres has only lost once in his last eight, albeit to mostly Featherweight battlers. He is a solid all-round fighter but is badly outgunned here. As long as ‘The Ninja’ isn’t a shell of his former self after the Kattar loss he should bounce back into the winners list this weekend.
Giga Chikadze to win
$1.40 (3 Units)
Toshiomi Kazama vs. Garrett Armfield
Toshiomi Kazama comes into this fight on the back of getting crushed in 33 seconds by Rinya Nakamura but gets a favourable match up here. He has built a 10-3 professional record, eight of which have come by stoppage.
Garret Armfield may have the advantage in the striking but he was outmuscled by David Onama, which is concerning here as he comes up against a talented grappler in Kazama. Armfield’s weakness has always been on the mat and I expect Kazama to drag him down and tap him with relative ease.
