2024 AFL Round 11 Preview & Betting Tips
Fremantle vs Collingwood
Friday 8:10pm AEST, May 24th, Optus Stadium
Fremantle were able to secure their third road win of the season last weekend when they toppled the Saints by 17 points at Marvel Stadium (72-55). It was an important bounce-back win for the Dockers after their loss against the Swans in the preceding round (39-87).
Freo have now won three of their past four games and will believe they’re in a position to build some genuine momentum ahead of their Round 13 bye. They currently occupy ninth spot on the ladder but can jump into the top eight with a positive result on Friday night.
Boosting the Dockers’ chances of success is the return of #1 ruckman Sean Darcy. He’s been battling leg injuries in the opening 10 rounds of the season but has been cleared to lead the charge. This will of course mean Luke Jackson, who’s coming off one of his best games since heading to the club, will play mainly as a key forward.
Elsewhere, Collingwood managed to scrape through with the four points last start against the fast-finishing Crows. The reigning premiers did their damage early and were able to hold on to secure their sixth sin from their past seven games (6-1-0).
Nick Daicos continued his sizzling form with another 3-vote-worth performance, collecting 41 touches in the win. Veteran Scott Pendlebury was also instrumental through the midfield with his 30 touches and two goals, and set the tone early in the first term.
The Magpies have been hit heavy by injuries all season and unfortunately there’s no sign of that letting up. Four of their five changes for this clash were forced, with Jordan De Goey being the key out, while Brody Mihocek headlines the inclusions.
Match Prediction: The Magpies have dominated this matchup in recent years with comfortable wins in each of their last three clashes. Their most recent battle out West resulted in an 80-44 win.
Regardless of recent H2H dominance, the Dockers are deserving of the favourites’ tag on Friday night, simply due to the Pies lengthy injury list. With so many inexperienced players on the park for the visitors, the Dockers should have the advantage in this one.

Caleb Serong 30+ Disposals – One of the best players in the competition this season and with no stoppers in the Pies midfield, expect Serong to do as he pleases once more.
Scott Pendlebury 25+ Disposals – Has put together a fantastic month and will be needed in the Pies midfield again. Expecting Pendles to rack them up.
Jye Amiss 2+ Goals – If the game goes as expected, Amiss should hit the scoreboard. He’s their deepest forward and I expect him to generate plenty of shots at goal.
