Flemington hosts Easter Saturday racing this week on what is a big long weekend of racing for punters. The Australia Cup is the feature with Mr Brightside drawing barrier 1 and starting favourite. The track will be Good and the first of 10 starts at 12:15pm (AEDT). It's a quality but tricky program but I am confident my three bets below should run well for followers!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, March 30th 2024
Race 3: Furphy Mile - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(7) Arran Bay was just fair last start when 5th at Caulfield but he was only beaten 2L. Before that he won well at this track over 1400m and the mile does look suitable for the second time in as many weeks. Stackhouse hops back on after winning on that occasion and from the inside he should be able to smother the gelding away comfortable before presenting late.
(9) El Soleado was Willow sticking with him after running 5th at Caulfield in the Group 2 Peter Young. This is easier and he has won twice at Flemington before.
(5) Frankie Pinot gets the blinkers on this time and his form is pretty good over the mile. His Flemington form is just okay though but he is worthy of a Place bet after running well in NSW.
(7) Arran Bay

Race 8: TAB Australian Cup GROUP 1 - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Mr Brightside had a wide barrier (11) when 2nd at Caulfield in the All Star Mile and he lost no admirers there. He is one of the most consistent horses in the country and he has won half of his career starts. Pride of Jenni, who is the second fav beat him last time but over the long straight, I think Mr.B can get him here. There will be a few others charging home late so Williams will want to settle him in around 4th or 5th position in the run I reckon.
(2) Cascadian is a very good horse who will settle a few lengths behind Mr B but will be running on just as well. He does like Flemington and has won half of his races over this distance. He does jump 400m in between runs but he is an experienced campaigner now and that shouldn’t worry him.
(3) Vow And Declare is big odds and even though he has never won over this distance, he has placed a few times at nice odds. He is showing $7.00 a Place at the moment and that may be worth a play. Egan stays on after settling closer last time and he might try the same tactics again.
(1) Mr Brightside

Race 10: HKJC x World Pool Handicap - 5:35pm (AEDT)
(10) He’s Our Bonneval hasn’t won in a year and a half but I think he is over the odds here and is worth a small play each-way. His three runs this prep have been solid with a combined beaten margin of 5.3L so he really has been thereabouts. He is fitter now and Currie stays on and will know his style really well now which should see him settle midfield with a nice run from barrier 6. A couple of the fancies have drawn wide in this so I would rather a small flutter at the 20-1 which is on offer at the moment. He likes the distance and he was unlucky last start really.
(14) Picaroon goes well first up and has the in-form Shinn on top. He will probably settle 2nd or 3rd in the run and should go well on his preferred Good ground.
(9) Golden Path has drawn 14 which is not ideal but is a consistent galloper. Both of his wins have come on the Soft though and he might be a better bet in a few weeks.
(10) He’s Our Bonneval E/W
$20/$5.50 (0.5 Units)
