Flemington will host a huge 10-race program on Saturday with the Australian Guineas being the feature race. After a warmish week in Melbourne and no rain, the track is likely going to be a Good4.
Riff Rocket will start favourite in the big one after winning well last start but many of his counterparts who raced against him in the Victorian Derby are in the same race.

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, March 2nd 2024
Race 2: The Flemington 2000 - 12:45pm (AEDT)
(7) Aramco for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr prepare this gelding which has drawn well in barrier 2 for Lane. He was superb at this track two starts back when winning after controlling out in front before being runner-up here over 2000m after trying the same tactics. On that occasion he was beaten a nose and the race was run a bit quicker. If he can lead or settle in the top three at a modest speed, he should win.
(6) Claim The Crown has been running on in his last couple of races at NSW and Shinn goes on this time after winning four races on the program at Hillside on Wednesday. The extra distance should suit and he will be cherry ripe being third up.
(5) Up And Under has drawn a little wide but will get back anyway. He has placed twice in quality races and has won on a Dry track before.
(7) Aramco
$2.50 (3 Units)
Race 5: Off The Track Sprint - 2:30pm (AEDT)
(5) Moesha ran on well for 4th in the C.S. Hayes Stakes at Caulfield last start and he did have market support in that as well. He won a jumpout before that (Pakenham) and Will Price takes a rare ride for the Moody Team so will be keen to impress. Moesha hasn’t raced at Flemington before but has won over the 1100m previously. Will get back early but could pick these up.
(3) Peace Treaty has drawn well in 3 for Currie and she is 1 from 1 on the Dry. That win was last start at The Valley after she led them a merry dance. First time racing at headquarters.
(6) Excess is resuming and has drawn close to the fence in 2. Before the break she raced here for a 5th over this track & distance. She will likely go forward again for Guadray.
(5) Moesha
$4.60 (2 Units)
Race 8: Howden Australia Guineas GROUP 1 - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(3) King Colorado has drawn wide in 12 but it should be fine because he gets back anyway. The rise in distance to 1600m is a big positive after running on well for 2nd behind Riff Rocket last start. He probably got a little too far back on that occasion which Zahra will be mindful of against a similar field here. He has won over the mile before and Flemington seems like it might suit him on Saturday.
(1) Riff Rocket is the deserved favourite for the Waller Team and he won the C.S Hayes STakes in brilliant fashion when first up. He has run a 2nd when second up and similar to King Colorado, he will enjoy the step up in trip.
(2) Veight has won 3 from 7 starts on a Good track and he was only 1.5L off Mr. Brightside last start and he won again last week. He has won at Flemington before and he will be two lengths in front of key rivals when the whips are cracking. He will just need to hold them off over the final 200m.
(3) King Colorado E/W
$7.50/$2.50 (1 Unit)
