Match Preview
What to make of Parramatta and Dylan Brown joining Newcastle next year on the richest deal in history. Lot has been made of their loss to Melbourne and how comprehensive the loss was. But, if you break down the game properly, 24 points from Melbourne came courtesy of intercepts and just lazy defence. There was nothing special in those points being scored and they did win the second half, so yes, the score line wasn't great, but I can make a case they played better than what it reflects. Jason Ryles is a coach that is seemingly taking no BS because he has several key and big names not playing in first grade, instead playing the NSW Cup. They are at home and I think will give this game a shake.
The Tigers should have won the game against the Knights last week. They led 8-0 and had them on toast. But the first test of Jarome Luai leading them to a victory and he failed. Admittedly it wasn't just on his shoulders but he did sign with the Tigers to lead his own team and the result either way is reliant on the chief playmaker. But there are a couple of big, big ins for the Tigers this week, with Api Koroisau and Jahream Bula returning to further strength their attacking side of things, which did look quite thin at stages last week. On paper, they do look a much better side, but after last week.... the jury is out.
Match Prediction: I do think the value clearly lies with Parramatta. As I said, they played much better than what the scoreline says last week against Melbourne. All the press will be on Dylan Brown to lead this side to a win after signing with Newcastle, and I thought their preseason efforts weren't too bad. They are at home and do love playing on a dry deck, which CommBank should be. The Tigers are looking to climb up the ladder and kick start their season. They should have done that last week but blew a golden opportunity and while they get some big inclusions, the jury is just out for me at this stage.

Eels 1-12: As stated above, I do like the Eels and think they can cause the upset. I doubt they'll blow away the Tigers if they do win.
Zac Lomax 1+ Tries: He's a world class player. At centre? Not sure, but he will no doubt be the target of Dylan Brown bombs and confident he can score a try.
Over 51.5 Total Match Points: I think this has the potential to be a high scoring game given the ground will be dry, fine weather forecast and both sides will want to throw the ball around.
SGM Odds: $10 at BoomBet
