NBL25 Round 4 Preview & Betting Tips
Adelaide 36ers vs Sydney Kings
Friday 7:30pm AEDT, Adelaide Entertainment Centre
The Adelaide 36ers had a shaky start to NBL25 with losses against the Kings and the Taipans in their opening two games, but have responded well with back-to-back wins to enter Round 4 with a 2-2 record.
The 36ers best performance came last start against the Hawks whom they defeated on the road despite being sizeable underdogs. Import guard Kendric Davis silenced the haters with 32 points and four assists, and Montrezl Harrell and Isaac Humphries had 17 points each.
In more positive news for the 36ers, Jarrell Martin is listed as likely to return from his foot injury in Round 5. It remains to be seen what they’ll do with Harrell who was signed as a short-term injury replacement player.
The Sydney Kings entered this season with lofty expectations due to the star-studded roster they put together and they haven’t disappointed early doors. The Kings are 3-1 with their only loss coming against the talented Hawks in Round 2.
Last outing the Kings were far too good for the Bullets and the 91-82 score line isn’t an accurate representation of how one-sided that game was. Xavier Cooks absolutely dominated with 23 points in 25 minutes, and Keli Leaupepe was another shining light with 22 points in 16 minutes.
Sydney also have a clean bill of health heading into Round 4 which is important with the quick turnaround between games, as they’re in action again on Sunday at home against the Snakes.
Game Prediction: The 36ers have looked solid so far this season but I don’t like this matchup for them. The Kings have a plethora of excellent athletes as well as the size to nullify the likes of Harrell and Humphries, which is what we saw in their first matchup in Round 1 where the pair combined for only 15 points. I expect the Kings to be too strong once again.
Sydney Kings -3.5
