PGA Tour Arnold Palmer Invitational Betting Tips
Bay Hill Golf Course, Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th March
It’s been a quiet few weeks on the PGA Tour with some lower tier tournaments being played in Mexico and Florida. It ramps back up this week, however, with another elevated event with a $20m prize-pool at the Arnold Palmer.
The Field
As you’d expect with the elevated event, all of the best players on tour are back in action this week, led by the No.1 player in the world Scottie Scheffler, who is surprisingly still hunting his first win of the season after winning a ridiculous seven times last season.
Other top names in the field this week include Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Tommy Fleetwood and Xander Schauffele, who will be making his first start of the season after recovering from a rib injury.
Past winners of the Arnold Palmer who will be looking to add another trophy to the case this week include Scheffler, Kurt Kitayama, McIlroy and Jason Day.
The Course
The Bay Hill Golf Course has been host of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, among other names, since all the way back in 1979. At just over 7,450 yards as a Par 72, the course itself is regularly ranked in the top few hardest courses on the PGA Tour. Generally, a score in the low-mid teens under par, or sometimes even single digits under par is good enough to win at Bay Hill.
The course places a premium on length off the tee and has been dominated by powerful drivers in the past. It’s a mostly flat layout that features water challenges on the majority of holes, meaning players will need to be on their game from tee-to-green to be competitive.
Betting Tips
Sungjae Im ($51/Top 20 $2.15)
I think the Korean provides excellent value this week sitting just outside the top tier of players in the betting markets. In total shots gained at Bay Hill Golf Club, Im sits behind only two players in the field this week, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. In his past five trips to Bay Hill he has racked up finishes of 3rd, T21, T20, T21 and T18.
Chris Kirk ($201/Top 30 $2.30)
For even more value this week I like Chris Kirk. Also sits high in the shots gained rankings at Bay Hill in the past and has turned in some great performance in his last four trips there. Since 2021, hes finished T8, T5, T39 and T44. Has only missed the cut in three of his last 15 tournaments.
