Only 30 players remain in contention for the FedEx Cup after 70 competed in the BMW Championship over the weekend. Keegan Bradley emerged victorious at Castle Pines and enters the Tour Championship in 4th place on the FedEx Cup standings, with all players starting the event this week with set handicaps.
The Field
The field at East Lake this week consists of just 30 players, with no cut over the four days. As in recent years, the handicap system will be in effect, allowing the top players in the FedEx Cup standings to start ahead of the rest.
Starting Handicaps:
-10: Scottie Scheffler
-8: Xander Schauffele
-7: Hideki Matusyama
-6: Keegan Bradley
-5: Ludvig Aberg
-4: Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay

Four players managed to force there way into the top 30 from outside at the BMW Championship in Tommy Fleetwood, Chris Kirk, Adam Scott and Bradley. Bradley, in particular, has scrapped his way to East Lake, starting the playoffs ranked 59th and having to fight his way into both proceeding tournaments.

Located about 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta, the private East Lake Golf Course spans approximately 7,340 yards with a Par 70 layout. Originally designed by Tom Bendelow, the course was recently redeveloped by Donald Ross.

The course layout challenges golfers of all styles without favoring any particular type. Key statistics to focus on at East Lake include Strokes Gained from tee to green, overall Strokes Gained, and current form.
Betting Tips
Xander Schauffele ($3.20 to win)
So hard to look past the form of Xander at the moment. He has a serious case to challenge Scottie as the best golfer in the world right now and has been fantastic through the first two playoff events with a T2 at the St. Jude followed by a T5 at the BMW. Should go close to winning the trophy, but look a little further down the list if you are hunting value in the ‘betting without handicaps’ market.
Sam Burns ($21 betting without handicaps)
Really like the look of Sam Burns in the 72 hole stroke play market. Has flown under the radar a little this year with the lack of a win but has rounded into some great form in the last few months. Has made eight straight cuts and has been lights out at the two playoff events so far, finishing T5 and T2. 9/12 career rounds at Eastlake have been under par for Burns.
