PGA Tour: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Betting Tips
California, Thursday 1st – Sunday 4th February
It was a rough week for BeforeYouBet golf followers at the Farmers Insurance on the weekend, as we missed on both of our plays for the first time this season. We’ll be looking to bounce back as we head to California this week.
The Field
The trip to one of the most famous golf courses in the world has brought out the stars for the most packed field of the season so far. The top two ranked players in the world will be in attendance in Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, who will be making his first PGA Tour start of 2024.
Other big names making up the field include Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Colin Morikawa and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Formers winners of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am include Justin Rose, Tom Hoge, Nick Taylor and Jordan Spieth.
The Course
While this week’s action will obviously be played at the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Links, it’s not the only course in the AT&T Pro-Am rotation, as golfers will also play at Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club over the first three days before the 54-hole cut and players return to Pebble Beach for the final round.
The host course is a Par 72 at just under 7,000 yards, making it one of the shorter courses on the PGA Tour. Depending on wind conditions, the course can either play extremely difficult or fairly easy for professional players, but the winning score over the course of the tournament generally falls in the high teens under par.
Betting Tips
Jordan Spieth ($19/Top 10 $3.10)
Hard to not like the course form of Jordan Spieth in California and at Pebble Beach in particular. The World No.14 has played in the event on 11 different occasions, racking up nine top 25 finishes to go with the win in 2017. He has also never missed a cut at the AT&T. Has finished T6 and T3 at his last two starts at the Hero World Challenge and The Sentry.
Nick Taylor ($76/Top 20 $3.00)
Taylor missed the cut in his last start but was solid the week before that, finishing T7 at The Sony Open. The reason for the confidence in him this week, however, is his strong course form. He has started in the AT&T nine times, making the cut on seven occasions and finishing in the top 25 four times to go with the win in 2020.
