PGA Tour Arnold Palmer Invitational Betting Tips
Bay Hill Golf Course, Thursday 7th - Sunday 10th March
It was a tough week on the tour for BeforeYouBet and followers as we missed on both of our highlighted players. We’ll be looking to bounce back as we head to Bay Hill Golf Course for the Arnold Palmer, which boasts one of the strongest fields of any event so far this season.
The Field
As is the case with elevated events on the PGA Tour, the Arnold Palmer has brought out the best talent in the world to compete for the $20m. The No.1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, headlines the event alongside other top 10 ranked players in Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.
Past winners of the event who will be looking to add another trophy to the case include Scheffler, McIlroy and Kurt Kitayama. Other notable players in the field this week include Jordan Spieth, Colin Morikawa, Max Homa, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.
The Course
Bay Hill Club & Lodge is set to host the Arnold Palmer Invitational once again, maintaining its tradition since 1979. The course, spanning just over 7,400 yards, places a premium on length off the tee, evident in the tournament's recent history dominated by powerful hitters. Total driving emerges as a crucial factor for competitors this week, complemented by the significance of familiarity with Bay Hill and effective course management.
In recent years, the course has presented a formidable challenge, with the average winning score over the last three years at a mere -6.6. This marks a notable shift from the previous five years, during which the average winning score stood at a more lenient -15.4.
Betting Tips
Matt Fitzpatrick ($34/Top 20 $2.00)
Love the look of the Englishman here. New found length over the last few years should make him a real contender at Bay Hill, a course where he has already performed extremely well in recent times. He has competed in the last eight straight Arnold Palmer events, missing the cut just once and racking up an impressive string of results over his last five starts (2nd, 9th, 10th, 9th and 14th).
Keegan Bradley ($56/Top 20 $2.50)
For a little more value this week, I love the look of Keegan Bradley. The veteran has an immaculate record at Bay Hill, having competed there 12 times, missing the cut just once and racking up four top 10 finishes. Represents some good value this week after finishing in the top 11 in two of his last four starts this season.
