The 2023 PGA Tour season has officially wrapped up with the final event on the calendar, the RSM Classic, being played over the weekend. Before the top players in the world go on break, however, there is still one unofficial event to be played in the Hero World Challenge.

Hero World Challenge Betting Tips

As far as unofficial and unsanctioned PGA Tour events go, the Hero World Challenge is right up there with the most popular of them for the fact that it is annually hosted by Tiger Woods. The 2023 edition has been in the headlines over the the last week after Woods declared that he will be making his return to golf in the 20 man field.
The Field
Just 19 golfers have been invited to the Hero World Challenge by Tiger Woods, joining himself to make up the 20 man field. There will be no cut, meaning the whole field will play all four days as they battle it out for the $3.5m purse.
There are some big names still missing from the star studded field, including two of the 2023 major champions in Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka, while Rory Mcilroy will also miss the event. Despite that, the field is still packed with star names such as Viktor Hovland, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Colin Morikawa and Max Homa.
Tiger Woods won’t be the only player making his long awaited return to golf this week, as Will Zalatoris is set to tee it up for the first time since The Masters all the way back in April.

Albany Golf Club will be familiar to a host of PGA Tour players now as it hosts the Hero World Challenge for the 7th time. Designed by Ernie Ells, the course combines the best of links and desert golf into one stunning layout, where golfers will get an all around test of their game.
Betting Tips
Viktor Hovland ($4.75)
Pretty hard to look past the Norwegian this week. Probably the most in-form golfer in the world at the moment, having followed up wins at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship with a stellar outing at the Ryder Cup. Since then, has competed in two tournaments on the DPWT, finishing 5th in Europe’s version of the BMW Championship before placing T2 at the DP World Tour Championship. Can barely do a thing wrong at the moment and to tip the scales further in his favour, he is the back to back reigning champion at the Hero World Challenge.
Justin Rose ($31/$4.00 Top 5)
My pick slightly out of the box here is Justin Rose. The Englishman has had a decent run of finishes on the DPWT over the past few months without setting the world alight, however, he does tend to turn it on when he visits the Bahamas. 5th, 3rd, 5th and 9th in his last four outings at the Hero World Challenge. Is great friends with Tiger so I’m sure ‘Ruby’ as he is called by Woods, would love to spoil his mates big return here.
