PGA Tour: WWT Championship Betting Tips
El Cardonal Golf Course, Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th November
We’ve had a strong few weeks on the PGA Tour with near misses on high priced winners as both Henrik Norlander and Adam Hadwin fell one shot short at the Shriners and ZOZO. We’ll be looking to finally break through for that win this week as we preview the field for the WWT Championship.
The Field
Once again, the top players in the world will be out of action this weekend as they extend their post Ryder Cup break another week. Sitting atop the betting markets heading into Thursday is Ludvig Aberg, Cameron Young, Sahith Theegala and Beau Hossler.
Past winners of the WWT Championship who will be looking to add another trophy to the case include Matt Kuchar and Patton Kizzire. Viktor Hovland has won two of the last three editions of the tournament but won’t be in attendance this week.
The Course
Located in the center of Mexico, El Cardonal Golf Course offers a scenic yet challenging experience for golfers. Featuring expansive fairways and rolling greens, the course requires precision and strategic play from those taking on its challenges.
Crafted by the iconic Tiger Woods, this course showcases 18 holes that meander through the rugged landscape, delivering golfers both demanding fairways and awe-inspiring vistas of the Sea of Cortez. The course harmoniously integrates with the neighboring desert setting, offering golfers a genuine oasis for an exceptional and immersive round.
Woods has created a course that rewards precision and smart decision-making. You’ll need to navigate bunkers, arroyos, and well-placed hazards to score well here. Since none of the players have played competitive golf on this course, we’ll need to look at other factors when making our tips this week.
Betting Tips
Beau Hossler ($26/Top 20 $2.25)
Like the look of Hossler this week. Has played in the last three PGA Tour tournaments when most of the field has taken at least one of those weeks off. Finished T28 at the Sanderson Farms, T7 at the Shriners and T2 at the ZOZO. In some nice touch at the moment and I think this course sets up well for him.
Cameron Champ ($51/Top 30 $2.25)
Champ has had some solid outings of late, including a T9 at the Sanderson Farms a few weeks ago. Hits the ball as long as anyone on tour so with the relative unknown of the course, I like the play of taking someone that could potentially outmuscle it from the get go.
