PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship Betting Tips
Country Club of Jackson, Mississippi, Thursday 5th - Sunday 9th October
It was a great week for Before You Bet followers at the Ryder Cup as we went 3-0 on our three betting tips in Europe to win along with Hatton overs and JT unders. We’ll be looking to carry over that momentum as we head back to the PGA Tour.
The Field
Just one Ryder Cup competitor will be in action this week as young Swedish superstar Ludvig Aberg makes just his 10th PGA Tour start after a fantastic week representing team Europe. Aberg played four matches over the course of the weekend and contributed two points to team Europe.
Given the rest of the combatants will be sitting out this week, the field is a little starved for top tier talent, with the likes of Eric Cole, Stephen Jaeger, Emiliano Grillo and Keith Mitchell headlining the action.
Past winners of the event who will be back at the Sanderson Farms Championship again this year include Cameron Champ, Ryan Armour, Cody Gribble, Peter Malnati, Scott Staalings and the defending champion, Mackenzie Hughes.
The Course
The Country Club of Jackson, a 7,461-yard, Par 72 course, has not presented many difficulties for professional golfers in recent times. Typically, the winning score in Mississippi falls in the high teens or low twenties under par, and we anticipate a similar scenario this week.
Originally created by Dick Wilson and established in 1914, the club comprises 27 holes, with the championship PGA Tour course being a combination of some of the finest holes from the entire course. This championship layout can be characterized as a parkland-style course with small greens and challenging run-off areas. It won't favor a single type of golfer; instead, players will need precision in their approach shots and putting to maximize their scores.
Betting Tips
Lucas Herbert ($34/Top 20 $2.80)
One out of left field here as the Australian doesnt have a lot of experience at the course with only one missed cut at Jackson back in 2021, however, he has played pretty well in these lower strength fields lately, highlighted by a T15 at the Travelers and a T30 at the Fortinet in his last four starts. Generally tears up these easier courses as well.
Henrik Norlander ($151/Top 40 $2.87)
All eyes will be on his Swedish compatriot this weekend but I like the veteran here. Has some solid results in the last three years at Jackson, finishing T4 in 2020, T4 in 2021 and T24 last year. Like him for a top 40 play at big odds here.
