Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, January 18th 2025
Race 7: Asahi Super Dry January Cup – 2000m - 4:00pm (AEDT)
(1) Osipenko $2.80: 5YO Gelding who has been superb in his last two runs without a win. He was enormous late two back in the Ingham having to try and work his way through traffic, but ran out of tarmac. (Slick times) Deserved to finish closer on that occasion. Buttered up in the Group 3 Schweppes Summer over 2000m and found a much nicer spot during transit (On pace) and was strong throughout only to be beaten in a head bob behind TAVI TIME. (Gaps to the rest). He remains at G3 level and stays over 2000m. Gets a top booking of J-Mac into the saddle and with the low draw id expect similar tactics to try and roll forward where he can either dictate or slot in behind the likely leaders of REDBREAST/HIGHLIGHTS. His runs have been nicely spaced and he looks a great bet here in a small field and is proven on the wet track.
(6) Redbreast $8.00/$2.10: 4YO Mare who has some handy form leading into this and must be considered on the wet track. Maps as though she will be on the speed and with the conditions it may be hard to run her down. 2000m is a query though. Each way.
(9) So Dazzling $31.00/$6.00: The roughie of the field who mixes her form. Narrowly finished behind Saltcoats a few runs back which is handy form but failed to back it up since. Goes well on the wet and is right down in weight. Blow out hope.
(1) Osipenko
$2.80 (3 Units)
Race 9: Tab BM78 - 1500m - 5:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Bunker Hut $3.80: 5YO Gelding who has been knocking on the door all prep with 3 runs for 3 seconds with a combination of less than a length in margins being defeated. Slightly further now and goes well fourth up. Handles the wet some what and with a 2kg claim he deserves to be in the market. Happy to be on.
(7) Silent Impact $6.50/$2.20:6YO who wasn’t all that far away over this grade/trip last start. Proven wet tracker and will be fitter for this third up. Will be improving.
(12) Mogwai $21.00/$5.00: Ex Godolphin runner who was superb first up for the new stable at Kembla winning by a length with 61kg on his back. Goes well second up and on the wet. This is much tougher, but do not dismiss and looks worth an each way shout.

Race 10: Rosehill Bowling Club BM78- 1100m – 5:55pm (AEDT)
(3) South Of India $16.00/$3.70: 4YO Gelding who has failed to turn up this preparation, but I am still convinced he is a talented horse. Loomed nicely last start, but then tired late. He is fitter again and gets in nicely with a 3kg claim. Will be the one to catch again.
(5) Spring Lee $4.00: Returning 4YO Mare who has trialled twice leading into this run which were both solid. She is a smart mare and had a solid time last prep winning twice and finishing second on two other occasions. She remains at similar class and has a terrific fresh record with 2 wins and 2 seconds from 4 outings on weather affected tracks. She gets a sticky gate, which is the only minor concern, but happy to look past that with K-Mac in the saddle and with the Bjorn BAKER stable is absolutely flying at the moment. She rates well and Id expect to see her in the finish. Happy to have some hard earned on. Goes well.
(13) Cosmonova $6.00/$2.30: 4YO Mare who boasts a pretty tidy record and is unbeaten on the soft track. Remains at the same class as last start, but will only be improving. If the rain dries up a little bit and we see a soft track, she will be the main danger. However, don’t dismiss her on the heavy. Value.
