Morphettville hosts a nine-race card on Saturday with the SA Derby as the feature race. Race 1 starts at 12:22pm (AEST), while the last concludes at 5:10pm. The rail is out 2m from the 1200m to the winning post and true for the remainder, and our selections are for a GOOD track with fine weather predicted – watch and monitor for any pattern if possible.

Morphettville Racing Tips: Saturday, May 4th 2024
Race 6: Adelaide Galvanising Industries Adelaide Guineas 1600m - 3:17pm (AEST)
(6) Sassy Boom $6.50: 3YO filly who has been scratched in VIC to run here. Hard to look past her first up win over 1400m where she was strong for the entirety to score easily. Went out to the mile second up and was pulled up without any abnormalities and then most recently held her own against a tougher field. This looks easier on paper and gets B.Shinn back in the saddle. Draws a nice gate and maps to lead where I am hoping she can display a similar performance to her first up win where she put them away. Looks a value bet here.
(10) Spirit of Camelot $2.70: 3YO filly who has started her career nicely without missing a placing from all 3 runs. Looks capable of stepping up to 1400m now and gets J.KAH to ride. Will go well.
(6) Sassy Boom
$6.50 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Sportsbet Queen Elizabeth Li Cup 2500m – 3:55pm (AEST)
(2) The Map $2.70: 5YO mare who has been in super form and returns today after almost 2 months off. Most recently finished a gallant second in the Adelaide Cup and before that second in the Lord Reims Stakes. Draws well here and gets Jamie KAH back in the saddle who has a terrific record on her. She is 2 from 4 over this trip and maps nicely here. She is clearly the one to beat and I suggest she should be winning this.
(1) First Immortal $3.00: 4YO gelding who boasts a nice record with being unbeaten fourth up and a win and second over this distance. Gets a nice booking with SHINN, but will need to lug the top weight. If he can get a better run in transit he will be around the mark.
(2) The Map
$2.70 (3 Units)
Race 8: Thomas Farms South Australian Derby 2500m–4:35pm (AEST)
(1) Antrim C0ast $7.50/$2.60: Cannot fault this 3YO gelding who has been enormous of late. Has form behind ORCHESTRAL in a Group 1 in NZ who has since won a G1 in Aus. This fella has then won on debut here at the valley in a gutsy win where he was wide for the majority of the trip and held off QUINTESSA who had a much easier run. Most recently finished second at Caulfield in a stride for stride finish with GOLD WOLFY who he meets again here, but meets them all better at the weights. He looks capable of continuing the terrific form here and looks a nice value bet with the set weights. Draws a nice gate and gets Michale DEE in the saddle.
(15) Coco Sun $4.50: 3YO filly who has been superb thus far. Winning both her first up and second up run before storming home late to just miss last start behind Vibrant Sun (Group 1 Winner). Demands respect fourth up and with current form lines. Draws wide and will need some luck early stages.
(1) Antrim Coast
$7.50/$2.60 (1 Unit)
