Ladies and gentlemen, we are back this weekend with some of the most highly sought after action in the eSports world. Turning our heads to the PGL in Europe, we will take a glimpse at some of the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive matches to watch this weekend. With some of the biggest names in the game (VP, Fanatic etc), weather you have a crack or not, this is sure to be one you don’t want to miss. Quarter final action kicks off from 9pm on Friday night and can be viewed for free on Twitch.
Astralis vs SK Gaming
I love SK Gaming. I followed them back in the early 2000’s when counter-strike was becoming a thing. They are considered potentially the best team in the world right now, and after some huge upsets recently, expect them to take this out solidly. If they get nuke as an opening map, it’s over for Astralis.

BIG vs Immortals
German teams are hands down some of the best in the world. European counter-strike in general is on a whole different level to the rest of us, and BIG is no exception. I generally have the time of the day for Immortals, but I just don’t think the Americans will have what it takes here. Notorious for folding under pressure, this should be an easy one for BIG to pick-up. Losing one map in the past 10 games, they are too solid right now, so look at them here for the win.

North vs Virtus.Pro
Another old guard of competitive counter-strike, Virtus.Pro are one of the oldest eSports organisations out there. With a bit of a roller coaster couple of years, they seem to finally be settling after some roster/coaching changes, so expect them to really ramp up in the PGL. I like North, and I have all the time in the world for them, but I don’t think they are at a ‘global team’ stage yet. Don’t dismiss them completely, but expect VP to take this one out comfortably.
And that’s it for the week folks. We will keep an eye on the LCK next week as it heads towards the final weeks of the split, but otherwise happy punting, and give SK Gaming some support for me :)
