The 2017 Rugby Championships continues this weekend and we take a look at the two matches and offer our Week 4 Preview and Betting Tips below.
New Zealand vs South Africa (Saturday 5.35pm AEST)
The Kiwis moved onto the top of the Rugby Championship table for the first time this year after defeating the Pumas last week. However, the Springboks will also enter this game undefeated after they drew with the Wallabies in Perth.
The Springboks continued to fight their way back into the contest against the Wallabies and they were in position to win the game late. They weren’t able to slot the field goal and it meant the two sides would split the points. The Spingboks have continued to improve throughout the Rugby Championships but they are obviously facing their biggest test on Saturday night.
The All Blacks haven’t lived up to their full potential this year and that continued last week against the Pumas. The side did enough to earn a double digit victory but they haven’t been as clinical as years past. We believe it is only a matter of time before they find their groove and make a statement with a victory. However, we don’t see it happening on Saturday night as we believe they won’t beat the line.
TIP: Springboks at the line (+17.5) - $1.90 at William Hill
Australia vs Argentina (Saturday 8pm AEST)
The Wallabies enter the fourth week of the Rugby Championship and they are still searching for their first victory. It is worse considering two of the three games they have played on home soil. If they aren’t able to earn the win this weekend, heads will definitely be put on the chopping block. That means the side will be desperate and they will need to play for their careers and coach. The Wallabies were strong in attack last week but their ill-discipline and costly errors continued to allow South Africa back into the contest and that ultimately cost them the victory.
Meanwhile Argentina put up a better than expected fight against the All Blacks. The side was pushing for a victory and it’s a promising sign for an entertaining contest this Saturday night. Argentina’s forward pack will test the Wallabies and they will be looking to maintain the advantage in this area. However, if it turns into a running game the Wallabies will get the advantage. The hometown crowd will get the win but there will be plenty of nervous moments along the way in the tight battle.
TIP: Australia at the margin (1-12) - $3.10 at CrownBet
